At a friends house he had the TV on half watching some older show. An ad came on and everyone in the room burst out laughing when a "model" runs through water on a beach. She was so horrible overweight but insisted on wearing a "bikini".
It gets worse...the next ad is for women that are incontinent and they again need to show a large woman undressed...blah.
The third ad showed a woman shaving their bikini area....TMI.

I didn't realized ads had gotten that bad....long live Netflix.

The H&M ad, right? With the girl walking on the beach.

She's pretty but do we really need to see her fat jiggling in slow motion?

Advertising has become so woke its became unbearable by them pushing certain tropes like every family is interracial along with the over sampling of minorities.

Its comical!

State Farm is the undisputed king of woke advertising.

They not only turned a white guy black, they redid the original commercial with the new guy. But kudos to them - State Farm knows what they're doing. They make unbelievable amounts of money.

I actually like the black Jake from State Farm. He's decently charismatic.

So the objection here is that H&M advertising that it sells swimwear and will have a variety of sizes in the store and that women should cover themselves if old, out of shape fat men demand it?

It's the woke movement. Body positivity, etc...

Reality is of course not related, but they try to make it out to be.

It's funny because it hasn't been successful for the last 2+ years where it's really taken off, but they still keep trying it like it's going to change lol. It basically means these marketing departments are run by millenials and Twitter.

Don't forget to declare your preferred pronouns on the side of a cereal box.

I've only ever heard of "fat acceptance" on the side of women. Men never cared from the start lol. But I've also never seen a clothing company advertising with a shirtless bubba by the grill with a beer in his hand weighing 300lb+

Majority of men also understand the simple fact that attraction isn't a choice.

I was wondering what happened to white Jake. All of a sudden his disappeared. I would imagine he wanted more money than State Farm was willing to pay him for additional commercials.

I figured it was for pot smoking pics or some such. Some years back, that happened to the spokesperson but I don't remember what company it was.

Really? You've never heard the term "dad bod" before? There is a display with a poster of a shirtless fat man advertising old spice deodorant on the end cap of my local Target store. The ad proudly proclaims that you should "embrace the dad bod."

So they tossed her picture on their instagram page to generate traffic?
She's not part of an actual campaign, just another "influencer" lead in to gain access to her followers?
Seems to have worked well since now people are talking about Gillette and going to their social media page.
They'll go to their various sites looking for the fat girl, then see the pop up for the sale or coupon and then start browsing around looking for other pictures to complain about then they'll forget why they went there to begin with and then go wander into the bathroom to see if they need to pick up any razor refills next time they go the store.

I guess I just don't place "not caring" with "fat acceptance".

One, the concept of "Dad bod" isn't a matter of saying the equivalent of "I can wear a bikini all I want and never feel shameful!" You go girl!

Two, "dad bod" isn't really about being more revealing in general..

The real honest sad part of this is that has been commented on before is... these are as fake as fake can get. When they put these people in bikinis, they have more make-up caked on then frosting on a cake.

What, you think they are the lucky ones that don't have cellulose showing, veins showing, stretch marks, etc?

Doesn't sound like fat acceptance, it's just really distorting reality.

And for the love of god don't compare that to standard make-up lol. It's apples to oranges comparison.

These threads as of late are turning into a circlejerk of "tell us you hate women without telling us you hate women."

These thread replies as of late are turning into a hilarious game where the people who proclaim to be wanting to lookout for women are coincidentally the ones that are single.
