Nvidia knows this product is stupid and they have lost interest in even attempting to market it. A few idiots will buy them and the rest will sit on shelves for 2yrs at the same price.

Personally, I'd hope for a liquidation sale a few months from now. Buying that card might be foolish at $3,000, but for something like a Woot closeout price like $900? Not bad.

The card didn't design itself or the cooler, they need to sell hundreds of those cards to break even. Still, it's free marketing so making this card was worth it. On top of that they "slowly" rise the prices of their top-end cards. 600 to 3000$ would be more shocking to people then 600$ to 1000$ to 1500$(3k for a card) for a single gpu.

Of course they don't cost zero to develop, I'm just saying the pricey part of development is the GPU, once they have those rolling out of TSMC, new cards and coolers to install them in is probably peanuts in the grand scheme of things. Besides, I bet Nvidia was going to be ok with losing money on these if that's what it came to when they thought the Titan Z was going to be an undisputed benchmark king and own the halo part crown before the R9 295 jumped out to an earlier launch and undercut Nvidia's price by a full 50%.

If they priced it at $900 it would be a great product, but when was the last time you heard of a liquidation sale of nvidia cards going for 30% MSRP

I still cant believe that not a single review site has gotten their hands on a card yet.

It's obvious that Nvidia isn't sending review units, and I doubt that most sites have $3k laying around for this. Better to just wait for the inevitable water-cooled $2k GTX 790

Hahaha my how times have changed...even $900 would be a "great product"!!

AMD and nVidia have trained us well. 🙂

Well it would offer <50% faster than Titan performance for $900. It will never happen ever. The could go out of business and would never commit to *gasp* lowering prices.

pretty crazy, go back to the 4870 X2 and 295 days for example and the dual GPU monsters were at the 500s... and it's also funny that the GK110 used on the Titan Z is 2 years old (since the first Quadro products using it) I think.

something is wrong

Why would they want to blow $3k of their own money for the world's most pointless review?

Oh I know they are not going to go buy one. but I have not even heard of anybody that has bought one (amazon shows a few have sold at least) post up saying they have one and what they are getting.

Exactly. This entire generation since GTX 680 was priced so high that we have been conditioned to expect high prices. A dual GPU card costing $900 and being called a good deal is pretty telling.
Its OK though. I know my price range and i'll stick to it.

A comp tech I know has a client that just bought 4. For reals. He didn't know they were dual gpu cards and that he couldn't run all 4 cards in sli. So I may be able to get em cheap. In that case I would get em. A titan z for the same price as a 295x2 or better is still a smoking deal. I haven't asked em yet, but I'm gonna.

Some people REALLY love Nvidia I guess.
