Titan MicroStutter

getting the itch to get a pair for sli.

who currently has titan sli? how is microstutter with titan sli? please post some graphs/results.

Even if someone felt like giving you advice on 'Titan microstutter' they couldn't graph it for you and show you the results. That's really not how it works.

anyone could. not like it is rocket science.

you have to own two titan first. enable sli. load fraps. select benchmark frametimes. go play a game. hit record (F11). open frametime log with excel then graph or open frametime log with fraps microstutter-test with auto graph. post here.

7970cf is nice, however eyeinfinity noise and microstutter could use some serious polishing. before spending upward of 2k on two gpu. like to see if the microstutter is better addressed.

Not rocket science, but at least twice as much $$ as most of us are willing to spend. Spamming this forum probably won't get you very far. You sound set on the Titan sli anyway.

Fraps doesn't measure Nvidias framemetering, therefore it is not exactly reliable for Nvidia cards.

I have Titan SLI and it works very well. Only below 40fps I feel some microstutter.

boxleitnerb, thanks for that real life experience assessment.

brightcandle, thanks for that link.
that is exactly what i was looking for (5760x1080 benchmark would been a bonus).

based on fraps at 2560x1440 with bf3, dirt3 (games i own). titan's microstutter is significant compared to 690.

will patiently wait for titan's "frame metering" update. until then. titan sli aquisition will be revisited.

Save some money and buy 3x670, you won't notice a difference. If you really like blowing money change those 670s for 680s. IMHO Titan in SLI does not make sense. Upwards of 3 pcs does if money is of no importance.

Nvida has really gone above and beyond by supporting four Titans in SLI. Take advantage of the opportunity as the microstutter is minimal due to hardware frametime management on the video cards. Quad SLI Titans is your answer.

Are you confusing titans with the 690? Proof if not. (Are you claiming titan has frametime hardware on a single GPU? Is this even possible.)

Additionally is quad sli even officially supported? (No idea on this one, just saw random rumors and a lack of reviews but they have reviewed 3 ti-sli)

I can't even begin to comprehend how stupid one has to be to spend $4000 for video games. Proportionally, you better have a 40 million dollar house, a 1 million dollar car, and you should also have a yacht.

No. Incomprehensibly stupid guy is the one with yacht and $1M car,

sitting in front of his $4k GPU PC 😎

each to its own. if pc gaming is truly your life passion. 4k is cheap.

ask the traveler how much they spend on traveling around the world?
ask the live-to-eat how much they spend on different resturants everynight 365 days a year?
ask the racer how much they spend on performance parts?
etc, etc, etc.

what is your passion?

for my other passion - spearing/diving. i have already spent 40 times that amount and have not regretted a penny.

as for this pc hobby (not passion). 2k on a pair of titan is the ceiling. 1k is the sweet spot.

No. For the average person 1K is an expensive hobby. 2K is already borderline absurd. 4K is not cheap, it's dementia. And this doesn't include the rest of the computer and monitors, which needs to be up to par for that configuration, so another 2K for the tower, and 3K for monitors. So close to 10K just to play games. Wow.

Like I said, your net worth better be 10x greater than the average middle class person.

the point is. if that is your passion. you be willing to spend 4k on gpu. that does not = stupid. that is part of enjoying the finer things in life.

dissapointed pc gaming is not my passion. 10k pc gaming passion is alot cheaper than 160k spearing/diving passion. 🙁

different folks with different strokes. carry on.
