Worst advice ever buddy!
Freshman year is the HARDEST for most people as they try to adjust to the college style of doing their work. Screwing around freshman year is a good way to lose any scholarships you have right away, get behind in your classes, screw your GPA and overall lower your standards.
WORK YOUR ASS OFF YOUR FRESHMAN YEAR. After you get your first report card, your grades are good, then let up if and when you want to.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that you are paying the instructors to teach you. If you are not learning things and getting bad grades, then it's because you are not making them do their job. Talk to them before, during, and after class if you need help. Schedule and appointment or visit them during office hours. They are there to teach you. Without you, having them there is WORTHLESS to the school.
Also, make sure you find some time to let loose and enjoy yourself, but make sure you don't do it when you need to study for a test.

-Do your homework, even the optional stuff.
-If you have a roommate, leave the speakers and home and bring headphones.
-If you're never in class, no one will let you borrow their notes.
-If you don't have a vehicle, make friends with someone who does, especially one with a truck.
-Wear flip-flops in the shower and don't touch the walls.
-Don't be noisy in the hallway
-If you don't have a job, don't complain about not having enough time for class.![]()

If you miss class on a regular basis, make friends with a person that will eventually become your info probe...equip him/her with a digital recorder so you can listen to the profs lectures later on in the day while your playing WoW.
