Michael Jordan was in all intents and purposes, a selfish pr!ck, albeit a charismatic and highly talented one. So therefore what is he worth to watch or support? Depends what character qualities society demands from it's 'entertainers'. Often not much, as long as the performances are worthwhile. The 'societal' issue for discussion is much more complex than to be had in a qb thread, but I'd pay to see a Jordan still in his prime. ;) We are a culture that needs it's entertainment, particularly sports entertainment.

yes, i would watch(not pay) jordan to smash a few backboards. i still think he could do it with ease.

great trade, they missed brad last year and tebow can be even better. Basically for a 4th rounder.

LOL. Yet no other team was willing to offer more than the Jets for Tebow.

Its not great but its what the market in football was for Tebow.

DeMeco Ryans only got a 4th round pick and he is one of the best, even top 5 MLB's in the entire league. We got more than the Texans did.

The problem was that we announced we were trading Tebow and hurt his market value since teams knew we wanted him dealt. If teams thought we would keep him if we didn't get fair value, we might have got more. There also doesn't seem to be bidding war as Jacksonville never made a serious offer.

Bottom line is, Tebow will take Sanchez's job, or at the very least you guys will have to here his name every 2 seconds everytime Sanchez throws a pick.

why is it such a bad move for the jets? I like the move. he has more potential than sanchez imho.
i too think tebow gives their team a better chance to win (hard to say 'better QB' when he is not really great at the position in the traditional sense). either management agrees, then they just wasted a ton of money on sanchez, or they dont agree and you get another season of fan mutiny. i also dont see the locker room handling it as well as Den did.

that being said. ill concede that they made a pretty good deal to get a 'proven' starter on the roster, who may turn out better than what they have.

Now that I thought about it, I hope this doesn't mean I have to listen about Tebow AND the Jets all fuckin season.

aww, did i hit a sensitive spot?

Lol, did you take your meds today? You're the one that appears to have a chip on their shoulder about something off-topic, not him.

So, like, pretty much every time Sanchez touches the ball?

Exactly, every 2 seconds

I could see Sanchez starting the first regular season game and the stands erupting with Tebow already.

If you guys think TebowMania was big in Denver, it will be HUGEEE with the New York media covering it. There will be no end to it.

I love that, all you haters are going to just hear about Tebow more

You can't just take Tim Tebow and stick him in the locker room and say "fix everything."

The Jest are fucked. They stupidly re-signed Sanchez, throwing away tons of money at yet another shitty USC quarterback, and now they think Tebow is somehow going to "unite" the team?

How many dismal performances will Sanchez get through before he's benched for Tebow (and eventually cut near the end of the season)?

I'd almost feel sorry for them, but then I remember they're the Jest and I just laugh.

You mean after Sanchez got his next 2 years guaranteed? Sorry, but Tebow was traded to be a wild-cat QB, ala Brad Smith.

Tebow could give the Jets a new dimension at quarterback to complement Sanchez. Tebow could run the Wildcat formation, a favorite of head coach Rex Ryan and new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano.

How the move is perceived in the fractured Jets locker room remains to be seen. Cornerback Antonio Cromartie took to Twitter on Tuesday when reports began surfacing the Jets had interest in Tebow.

”We don’t need Tebow,” Cromartie wrote. “We sell out every home game. Let him go to Jacksonville, Tampa or Miami.”

As reports intensified, so did Cromartie’s belief the Jets do not need him.

“Y bring Tebow in when we need to bring in more Weapons for @Mark_Sanchez let's build the team around him. We already signed to 3 year [extension],” Cromartie wrote Wednesday before the news broke.

I don't think we've seen the last of Tebow-mania on the field. I'd love to see him prevail as a starting qb in some way or another once again, some place or another.

You don't think he can get guys like Cromartie to see the light about premarital sex?

ha! i just don't see how he is going to deal with the other players, coach, and fanbase.

jets fans need the QB equivalent of snooki, not Football Jesus.

Its sort of like dumping a bottled water into a clogged toilet and expecting the mess to dissolve on its own.

Honestly that stuff just sounds like media crap.

Tebow is their wildcat QB option, not their locker room savior. He certainly shouldn't hurt their locker room, and may be a positive influence, but that's it.
