Honestly that stuff just sounds like media crap.

Tebow is their wildcat QB option, not their locker room savior. He certainly shouldn't hurt their locker room, and may be a positive influence, but that's it.

LOL, yeah I'd tend to agree.

Still, I really don't understand why the Jets wanted him...but there was a rumor the Pats wanted him too and I didn't much understand that either. He's kind of high profile for a backup.

Its not really costing the Jets all that much, and even if he has bad stats the guy finds a way to keep the games close. Tebow actually seems to fit the Jets style of run first, no turnovers, and stout defense. Sanchez has all the physical tools, but he really should be a little bit further along than where he is. The only mistake I think the Jets made was extending Sanchez for 5 years, but only $20mil guaranteed isnt that bad. They couldnt really foresee that Tebow would have been available when they extended Sanchez.

The Jets never should have let Brad Smith go, but they picked up Tebow for less. This is a win in my book.

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...trade-hits-snag-contract-language-source-says

After word spread rapidly Wednesday that the New York Jets had acquired quarterback Tim Tebow from Denver for draft picks, the teams have encountered a hang-up in the language in Tebow's contract that could nullify the trade, a Broncos source tells ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Tebow has about $5 million worth of recapture language in his contract, meaning the Jets would have to pay back some money to Denver, and the Jets might be unwilling to do that.
The trade, then, is not finalized.
The teams agreed to the terms of the trade -- the Jets dealt fourth-round and sixth-round selections in 2012 in exchange for Tebow and a 2012 seventh-rounder from Denver -- before the Broncos asked New York to pay back a portion of bonuses and salary already paid to Tebow, sources told Schefter.
One league source said he believes the trade will go through. Sources also said that, if the trade falls apart, the St. Louis Rams could be in play for Tebow.
The same money issues in Tebow's contract caused complications for Jacksonville trying to complete a trade for Tebow earlier, sources told Schefter.
Tebow, a former first-round pick, went on the trading block Monday when the Broncos secured free agent quarterback Peyton Manning, who signed a five-year, $96 million contract.

"Cool so we get Tebow and you guys get our fourth and sixth round picks in 2012?"
"Yep - [cough]and 5 mill[/cough]"
"Wait what was that?"
"Huh? Nothing, just clearing my throat. So do we have a deal?"

Haha. Just read this in the comment section of a related CNN article:

MUST be part of "God's plan" for him. This, of course, means that Elway had no "free will", i.e. he HAD to trade Tebow to the Jets in order to conform to God's plan. Of course, it MIGHT actually be SATAN'S plan for Tebow, in which Satan, acting under God's direction and supervision, has nasty things in store for him in order to "test his faith." FUNNY how much silly stuff you can conjure up when you invoke magic invisible characters up in the sky. Of course, playing for the Jets in front of 80,000 drunken pagan heretics could indeed be a REAL one of those nasty trials - tune in in August!

lol, Denver is letting Timmy decide where he goes, Jax or the Jets. What an embarrassment this will be for the Jets after they already announced the trade

Hahahaha... man, it must suck for NY. They suck at the QB position enough already...now they will have to find another way to pacify that baby QB. Just get rid of Sanchez already...the writing is on the wall at this point...

The only thing that we know is that the Jets will be the center of the circus this year...just to think, when Rex first got there, things looked so good...that boat is now about to sink.

You can't just take Tim Tebow and stick him in the locker room and say "fix everything."

The Jest are fucked. They stupidly re-signed Sanchez, throwing away tons of money at yet another shitty USC quarterback, and now they think Tebow is somehow going to "unite" the team?

How many dismal performances will Sanchez get through before he's benched for Tebow (and eventually cut near the end of the season)?

I'd almost feel sorry for them, but then I remember they're the Jest and I just laugh.

Actually, the contract extension is not really a contract extension at all.

They just restructured it to make room on the salary cap. He is making something like 2 mil less this year. Also, after next year, the contract renews as an option for the Jets. So, if they decide not to renew his option, they can just get rid of him easily. essentially it is an incentive based contract.
