Siberian Tigers typically weigh about 700lbs and are generally about 13ft from nose to tip. A male Lion typically weighs a little over half that, at about 400lbs, and they are generally about 9ft from nose to tip.

Female lions typically do all the hunting.

I imagine the male lion would be more ferocious, but I'd put my money on the tiger.

Considering I saw one link in that thread stating the contrary, and the author didn't state his/her qualifications to make that judgement, I'm going to stick to what I was told by a few zoologists at my university. It's impossible to determine as the two species would probably never go neck to neck, but the female tiger has the advantage over all others.
