Tiger Direct, Good or Bad

Is direct any good now?

This is for the pricing engine and feedback is important.

** this is stickied because one of the editors stickied it. **

I've ordered about $10,000 worth of stuff from Tiger for my work place. Never had a problem with them!
Now that they've implemented an extranet for their customer, I can order my stuff with ease rather than waiting for the rep to get back to me.

Buddy of mine swears by them and hasn't had any issues with the rebates. I've heard so many bad things that I've never even ordered from them.

i haven't had much expirience with tiger, but i've had one bad one. As such i tend to avoid them. We live with enough places competing, that if you mess up once, you lose my buisness.

CompUSA pissed me off.. i went to Best Buy, Tiger Direct pissed me off, i went to newegg.

If they had a tempting enough price i think i would consider trying them out again though, it wasn't that big of an f'up.

Why are you stickying your own threads? Isn't there rules against staff admin abuse?

Not to mention that there's nothing more obvious then making a post that is obviously not sticky worth, and then logging in as a moderator and editing the message to sticky it.

:disgust:

Adul is a mod, or has some "favours" in reserve from this weekend? :Q

I'm guessing it's because Adul posted this as "official business" (assuming she's still an AT'er staffer).

Otherwise I doubt it would get stickied, unless she is very talented 😉

I will never order from them just based on what I've heard. The only decent prices I've ever seen on their stock has been after rebate, and since the rebate is never going to come it kind of kills the deal.

I also heard at one point they were signing their customers up for some kind of (fee-based) service w/o their knowledge or consent.

I'm usually willing to pay a bit more to support etailers that have good business practices. Just recently bought my first LCD from monitorsdirect, for example.

I have no powers, but it something we need to know. Someone else on the staff stickied it. I am only the messenger.

So no I dont have mod powers, admin powers, no the ability to log in such accounts

**FIXED** 😛

Okay, fair enough. If we can prove that the rebate checks do indeed get lost or never show up at all, then we (Anandtech) should call up one of the local news stations (raleigh/durham) and get in touch with their "on your side" business reporters. Explain the details and point them to the tiger Direct store on Capital. Then they should be able to talk to a company rep and answer the questions, right?
