Is direct any good now?

This is for the pricing engine and feedback is important.

** this is stickied because one of the editors stickied it. **

There was a guy that posted here about how he used to work there and how an egomaniacal boss drove it into the shitter.

Ugh, now to vote. I got what I ordered quickly but they sent the OEM version of the processor without stating that it was OEM (It didn't say which and I forgot to ask before ordering). They have "supposedly" upgraded my cpu's warranty to full retail because of this and that they don't even carry coolers for socket 939 boards. It did have a $100 rebate which I just sent in so I guess I have to wait for that. At this time I would have to vote positive but want to wait to see how the rebate pans out.

They've been bad since the early 90's. They don't stand behind their offerings. They really haven't changed yet and they've gotten bigger so don't expect them to change. It's a bad joke and you know they teehee and giggle the day away reading the complaints. However, if I'd oreder over $10,000 in stuff you'd bet they'd pay attetntion to my orders too. I just won't take the chance. I haven't even gone to their retail outlet since it opened down here. Now if Fry's opened up, I'd be sure to check it out.

I have had good luck with them, but I also read the rebates carefully before I buy. Sometimes their rebates are going to be tight to get with when it needs to be mailed in by, so I pass. I have not had a problem with the 25 or so rebates I have sent in to them. I have only called their CS once for a case issue, and they resolved it quite well.

tiger direct has has numerous complaints about them with the BBB. they are a pretty sleazy company, and this is not only my opinion but also shared with countless others(and at other forums as well, like at fw)

i would never buy anything from them, and would go so far as to discourage others not to shop there as well (same goes for best buy)

Oh noes, ATOT innuendo is spreading into HD! It's like... that scene from 'Toys', the one where Robin William's character is working in the lab, doing product testing on "fake barf", and the walls slowly keep pushing inwards... must... keep... HD... "pure"... 😛

PS. Great movie, if you've never seen it.

I bought a case and some case fans from them.

The products shipped very promptly. I am satisfied with their service.

I would definitely order from them again if they had the lowest price on a product i was looking for.

I don't have any great loyalty to any one company. The bottom line rules.

I have had good service from Tiger Direct, Newegg, buy.com, etc...

To answer your first post:

What's next, Best Buy?

We are in fact looking to add BestBuy, Outpost.com, Microcenter and CompUSA to the price guides as well. TD was just the first one we wanted to check up on. Obviously if their prices suck though it wont really matter since they will never show up.

How's about mwave? They're actually reputable.

what do you think this thread is for numbnuts?

i myself have not had any dealings with TD

I would normally take a thread like this and send the link to the customer service account to the said company so they can see for themselves there poor reputation. Over the years listening to other piss and moan about TD's service has brought me to the conclusion that they really dont give a shit. although it hasnt stopped me from buying from them, i just avoid the rebates. i would urge that this thread continue and that every single person who reads this or has had a bad experience with TD sent them the link to this thread. May just maybe they will see the light. There is strengh in numbers and as long as n00bs like mysef continue to order from these guys they will stay in business. From now on i will support my fellow consumers here an discontinue my services with TD

power to the people 😀

Personally, I like the fact that people are posting their experiences with Tiger Direct. If the majority of people who have shopped there have had bad experiences, why would I want to shop there?

Petty insults are always welcome.

My only experience with TD was when I ordered the AMD EPP bundle.
Their shipping time was nothing to write home about, but it wasn't slow.
Packaging was just barely adequate to protect my items inside.
Everything worked fine.
I was satisfied for the most part, so I voted yes.
I probably won't shop there again, though.
There are too many other great places where I can get what I need that I know are better.

I haven't had a problem with them. I would order from them again if what I needed/wanted was the right price etc. and wasn't urgent.

thanks to AT, I have never bought from them....and plan to keep it that way

I would like to know why this is stuck to the top....maybe the mod who put it there will let us know why he did it😕

I live in Germany and have an APO address. Tiger is the fatest shipping to me. I normally get packages in 4-5 days. Some companies (amazon) will not ship anything to me because they say it takes to long to get the stuff.

I have received all my rebates from Tiger. Also, I like the option af sending the money to my paypal account. I NEVER count on rebates though, If the shipped price is too high, i don't buy. That way, if I get a rebate, it is a good deal.

I always use my american express on the internet. From what I have experienced, they are the most aggressive in getting your money back in case of problems.

i actually got 2 20$ rebates back from them bc they f-ed up, mainly bc i wouldnt stop bitching until they sent it to me

I bought my Sharp Zaurus at Tiger, when it was the only option... I received it with no problems. However, it's been the only purchase. They'd have to have a heck of a deal, with no rebate for me to take a chance again.

I agree that word-of-mouth has to be killing them...

I have bought several items from TigerDirect. EVen my current computer is from TigerDirect. They ship fast and their rebates work.

Words of mouths are just words of mouths. Every retailer is getting better. Especially big ones like Newegg or Tigerdirect.
