If you're into these dating apps, it would be cool if you could check out a dating app that myself and 2 others (1 other dev) released in the app store last week. It was over a year of development total time in our spare time with a bunch of hiccups along the way, but it's finally out.

The app is only "open" in NYC for the time being as we're trying to have a condensed city test things out to see how it scales, but even there we're not getting too many users but we're slowly but surely getting some. We're trying to get over the chicken/egg problem that these apps have.

As of now however, you cannot select from 35 genders. You sign in through your facebook account and it uses your facebook information.

If you want to check it out, https://spinthebottle.co is the website with a promo video about the app and links to it in the Apple app store. The Android one is in the works.

Who cares?

It's not really a care thing. More of a curiosity. I had never heard of that term before and and genuinely intrigued to know what subset of tinder users identify as "Indigenous American LGBT". That's a really specific demographic. :p

Instant talking point if you go on a date with them!

And/or you could ask if everyone else asks that question.

I've always been curious what this app would bring up as my matches, just for kicks (since I'm married). Does it just throw everyone meeting your "likes" at you or does it actually have a sophisticated match algorithm?

tinder? no. it shows you pictures that get pulled from facebook profile from people that are near you. if you think they're hot, you swipe one way, and if not you swipe the other. it is the least sophisticated algorithm ever. if you both swipe the right way its a "match" and, as i understand it that's an immediate contract to engage is intercourse.

Wow... back in my day, you had to buy them dinner and a few drinks first. Yay, technology!

Oh hell, I crossed that line ages ago.
Allow me to clarify: you hadn't crossed that line yet in this thread. I have no problem with your belief that only two genders exist. When you start actively mocking members of the LGBT+ community about it, then I have a problem.

He's saying that if you don't call an... alt-pronoun by their preferred alt-pronoun, you are harassing them.

That's not what he said.

- edit - my bad, that is what he said :) I'll try again.

but when colleges start forcing us to use stupid pronouns else it be considered harassment then it becomes not fine.

When you're doing something repeatedly specifically to piss someone off, I'm wondering what else it should be called. Life must be so hard for you, if you find common courtesy to be such a difficulty.

Say that aloud, and correct the grammar while you're at it. You'll find you're thinking the opposite of what he's saying.

Here I'll do it for you: "when colleges start forcing us to use stupid pronouns (or) else it('ll) be considered harassment (of the alt-pronouns)"

Like calling Trump supporters homophobes when they say they aren't, they are harassing the Trump supporters. Gotcha.

I think what sucks is while everyone is caught up freaking out about some phone app adding additional gender options we have the establishment locking down our government with lobbyists and special interest groups dictating policies that actually have a tangible impact on our lives. Social issues must seem like a sweet distraction to the mass pillaging.

All these fancy online dating apps. Pfft. In my day we just walked up to the girl we liked and smacked her on the head with a club. If the skull fractures and concussion didn't kill her, she was ours.

Not doing anything with the intent of pissing people off, but I'm also not saying xer or the like. And I'm not alone in that regard.

They left out pansexual.

Still can't select Male Lesbian.

That reminds me of a story I recently read where a couple was married for 10 years when the husband told his wife he was transgender lesbian so he still loved her and wanted to stay married.
