I have seen many interviews with him on that topic, and he seems pretty consistent.
I just can't imagine that he gets asked this particular question "all the time" by Christians. Possible "yes"...likely "no". I've never been asked nor heard of anyone being asked this question in my entire lifetime. Have you personally ever been asked this question? If so, how many times?

Then someone may want to tell him that he is indirectly quoting 2 Corinthians 3:3-3.

Also, please check in on the basic classes for carrying guns thread. Your story is falling apart in that thread.

Was this meant for me or someone else? I dont remember posting in the basic classes thread, and I went through it and saw nothing of this topic, or anything from me.

As for morality and the verse. It would seem to imply that morality was around before the bible. The reason for that was because god put it there before he inspired the bible. I would argue that it came from evolution as morality increased the utility of people and as such was likely to be carried on.

No real way to prove either I suppose.

Well, Moonie just did a thread last week asking where does morality come from and how can an atheist claim morality. I actually watch debates on the topic regularly so I may not be a great person to ask. Penn comes up quite a bit, as he is fairly well spoken, and quite entertaining.

Yea...had you confused with someone else. Sorry.

And morality was around before the bible. Well before it.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess it was piasabird?

(Pun intended)

I think so. Your guys' names look too much alike at a glance.

The answer to Penn's argument is that he is correct. You don't need a written law to tell you what is wrong and what is right. We all know what is wrong and what is right. Too many people open their bible or Koran or whatever and find a verse that justifies their hate. I don't kill people not because I'm Christian, I don't kill people because its wrong.

OK

That you do need to back up with some numbers. That is quite a large logic jump.

It's not that far of a jump at all, the only polls we have on the subject show an overwhelming majority believe in Christ (as we would expect), and yes I will admit the polls flaws. Just pulling one demographic out, 90% of black people believe in Christ. I personally think it would be a large logic jump to assume that the majority, or even a significant amount, of the black murderers are in the 10%.

If you can find some hard data to back that up...in the slightest;
a) It would be more believable.
b) I would say your Google-Fu is better than mine.
