Hey, nothing wrong with that seeing how most of the world needs us b/c of the dollar. So define "rogue", and why we weren't considered "rogue" under obama while he was droning his enemies on foreign soil without UN approval? lmao

They need us now, but at the rate its going, they will need us less and less every year. That's the problem. Once again, everyone else is playing the long game and we're concerned with RIGHT NOW.

Like most internet trolls and bullies, Trump is convinced that All-Caps is the most macho thing imaginable.

He is still stinging from worldwide notice of his public submission to Putin. He's desperate to "regain" the image of A Real Tough Guy.

But it's Putin he bowed to. The only way for Trump to "regain" the image of being strong, is to demonstrate strength in opposing or criticizing Putin..or in this case threatening Iran.

It doesn't matter how many other countries he threatens to blows up. Unless he makes at least one critical remark about Putin - with no qualifiers, then the world will continue in the opinion that Trump is a pathetic weakling.

Trump governs by Twitter and this is nothing new. Little Rocket Man, firing people, etc. This is business as usual.

This is the same shit he did with NK...rattled his sabers, built up the rhetoric, inflamed both sides...then cut a deal...and surprisingly, it seemed to work.

I’m not quite sure the Iranians will respond the same way Lil Kim did though...but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

If this fucker wants to rattle sabers, stick him on a horse, give him a sword and have him lead an army of red hats and their precious AR-15's against the Iranian Army. Put up or shut.

agreed. I'm all for Trump leading his proud army of dick-injecting redhats against the Iranian army. We should all lobby our Congressman now, urge them to draft such a bill and vote for it. Get these assholes out of the country and let them die the way they want to.

It didn't work, it just restored things to how they were before. He 'solved' a problem that he created himself. There also was no 'deal' and the US has just indicated it accepts an effectively unlimited timetable for NK denuclearization. (ie: never)

What Trump did is create a crisis, undercut our standing with our allies, and make unilateral concessions to the North Koreans in exchange for a photo op.

Well...I basically agree with you, but there appears to be evidence that NK has beed dismantling parts of their launch site...that COULD be a sign of success...or not.

Yeah I saw that but to me the fundamental issue is that we're looking to eliminate North Korea's nuclear/long range missile capabilities and I see no indication of them actually doing that.

To be clear if Trump were ever able to get them to do that in any meaningful way I would be the first one to congratulate him on a job well done. I see little evidence that's likely.

Certainly that's a good question, but you know the answer that derails it. what's in it for us isn't an operating consideration.

what's in it for Trump still demonstrates the self-destructive, self-contradictory nature of his mind. He's frustrated now about both the Russia investigation and the ancillary developments with the Cohen tapes. So flaming at Iran is his safety valve for blowing off steam.

Unfortunately, it's not safe. There is no safety. This evening, Lawrence O'Donnell asserted that Trump is all full of bluster and never follows through. He says that Trump has proven not to be a homicidal maniac willing to kill millions in his own orgy of reckoning.

But O'Donnell doesn't know that to any dead certainty. It's all very uncertain. Uncertainty is risk, and a lot of people -- some with health problems -- have to suffer through this endless stream of anxiety.

Oh -- almost forgot. Trump will do his best to upend the agreement with Iran for a totally unrelated reason: Obama was black; everything Obama did is wrong; and Trump must erase the Obama legacy.

How much of a legacy would you want to leave in place, on the other hand, if it's the legacy of an arch-traitor?
JFC, it's not complicated. 2 words: Israel and nukes. It's not a secret that Trump is strongly pro-Israel. All your other jibber jabber is just that - jibber and jabber about race and tinfoil hats.

WHy not move to a "real" country like Great Britain or Germany? No guns and all the conservatives are censored and free healthcare and college. Your dreamland! Oh but it's gonna cost you a little more in taxes. So why are you still here? Are you greedy like me? Sure sounds like it.

Don't drown in all that straw.

He only wants to be generous with other peoples money. He thinks all his money should be his only.

Probably as a favor to Vlad...

The European Union is coming to Washington tomorrow to negotiate a deal on Trade. I have an idea for them. Both the U.S. and the E.U. drop all Tariffs, Barriers and Subsidies! That would finally be called Free Market and Fair Trade! Hope they do it, we are ready - but they won’t!

Pretty obvious that Trump is playing the "long game" with the tariffs b/c he knows he can outlast them and break them. You'd be surprised what significantly rising prices on goods can do to the morale of a country.

I guess we are going to find out because US tariffs raise prices in the United States, genius. Lol.

While everyone knows that trade wars are stupid generally and this one in particular (as there’s almost nothing to win), if you’re going to start a trade war you pick one enemy at a time, not everyone.

What will end up happening is either the US capitulates in the short term for which our trading partners will give meaningless, symbolic concessions that Trump can claim as victory or other countries will look to the Democrats to take the House and/or senate and have Congress neuter his trade authority.

I disagree that trade wars are stupid. As your best friend Rahm Emmanual says, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste". Trump is the master at orchestrating a crisis and then ensuring that the deal is fair. How come I don't see you mentioning the negotiations on tariffs he settled with Austrailia, Brazil, and Argentina? Oh wait, because it doesn't fit your agenda. Keep spinning, little spider. Especially funny is your assertion that the Dems will take either house in Midterms.

I’m sure you do disagree that trade wars are stupid, but that’s because you’re stupid. There has been no meaningful change in trade terms between the US and those countries and they represent a tiny fraction of US trade anyway.

Tariffs between us and our major trading partners were already exceptionally low. There’s almost nothing to gain, it’s just that Trump is too clueless about trade and finance to know it as are his followers.
