You think certain kinds of videos should be kept private, even though it may mean allowing the crimes to continue unsolved?

Do you really think people will be able to stomach videos of child rape to identify a victim? That represents a very small minority at best, and still doesn't warrant putting such videos in the news or on YouTube. A single snapshot of a child's face in the video, ok. The full original video, no. And that's tangential to your 1984 argument anyways.

Actually a fair number of cases of child pornography are going to be jailbait area anyway. Most people aren't attracted to anything under 12. The ones who are probably aren't going to act on it, and I agree the few who DO act on it need to be punished. But not the ones who just have thoughts.

There's a difference between a jury viewing child pornography to identify that the rapist is indeed the man on trial and/or a given child indeed the one in the video, and posting child porn on YouTube and attaching $100 rewards for the first to identify it.

SRSLY? MJ was an easy target due to his behavior and that's all anyone can say for certain. I'm not saying that he wasn't but there was no reason to believe he was, especially that case where the father, not the teenager, made the accusation and was quoted when asked how this would affect his son saying "That's irrelevant to me ... It will be a massacre if I don't get what I want. It's going to be bigger than all us put together ... This man [Jackson] is going to be humiliated beyond belief ... He will not sell one more record." This man was OK with Jackson as long as he was building them houses and paying for all their expensive crap.

Pedophilia is a mental illness. First-time offenders who get caught for possession should be sent to be a mental institute to be reformed. If they get caught a second time, then it's a felony.

Like homosexuals, pedophiles have a fetish that is inherent to their personalities. They are born with it, and some of them can't suppress their urges. We should be lenient on first-time offenders and give them a chance to reform themselves without a felony on their records.
