One of the reasons crime videos are released is to identify the parties involved.
You think certain kinds of videos should be kept private, even though it may mean allowing the crimes to continue unsolved?
Do you really think people will be able to stomach videos of child rape to identify a victim? That represents a very small minority at best, and still doesn't warrant putting such videos in the news or on YouTube. A single snapshot of a child's face in the video, ok. The full original video, no. And that's tangential to your 1984 argument anyways.
