advertising is all lies. when you really break it down, the point of advertising is to cause an emotional response in people and to convey information. in that regard, this is an effective ad campaign.
the simple fact is for many people OS X is a great operating system on solid hardware. for others XP/ Vista on more customizable hardware fills their needs.
I never understand why there need to be rivalries. XP vs OS X, Chevy vs Ford, etc. Who cares? Buy what's good for you and the rest doesn't matter.
If you don't let your product choice define your identity, then you won't take advertising personally.
