YOU ARE A RACIST!!!!!

Seriously though, it is because the system is broken. The liberals will not acknowledge this and think we need to contribute more money to the black hole.

Anyone have a link to the video of millionaire rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard pulling up in his limo to get his food stamps? When asked why he wasn't turning down the food stamps he said "Cause that's free money!"

You must be doing it all wrong. We had a "section 8" family living in a house in my neighborhood that paid $200.00 per month in rent for a house that rents for $2100.00. Fortunately for them the driveway was large enough for them to park the Mercedes, Jaguar, and the Chrysler mini van. And they rented out a room in the house which likely covered the $200.00.

This guy I used to hang out with had a family across the street from him like that. Fucking ridiculous.

There always have and always will be people who want their government to support them in the lifestyle they would like to be accustomed to, including the idle rich.

But smarter people watch these trends long term and also realize that the Horatio Alger myths and this whole thread are crocks of shit invented by the rich.

Most people, will, given the option, work for a living and contribute to society. Its the opportunity to succeed that has made America great, and in tough economic times, that opportunity is greatly reduced. So if we create enough threads saying the poor are a bunch a slobs, we can justify doing things like not extending unemployment to
people who can't find work. And then better yet, we can eliminate the minimum wage, outlaw unions, eliminate the middle class, so we can have a Haitian style economy with a few very rich people and the rest very poor.

Of course the problem with such an economy is that there are no customers for all those businesses started by fire in their belly ambitious people, nor can any large established businesses find any customers for their output. So they lay off more workers and have even fewer customers. Its called a depression and that is where we are headed if we can't pump up the economy and better distribute the wealth.

When the base of the food chain goes, everything goes down with it.

Human governments are always in that struggle, because the rich run the show, they rig the game in their favor, then get overthrown when the food chain collapses.
Then we try something new, and repeat the same old process.

For 40 years or so, the gap between rich and poor has been growing ever greater in the USA, and now we wonder why we have problems now?

buahahahaha. Gubment forced a women to rent her home for $200? rrrrrrrrright. hahahahahah

Are you stupid? Well that's a stupid question, I already know the answer. Of course you are. The landlord didn't rent the house for $200. They rented it for full price. It was the tenant who paid $200, you stupid fool.

Section 8 is the holy grail for many landlords, as long as they're willing to put up with some of the programs requirements. You NEVER have to worry about the rent because the government sends a check like clockwork.

That is not true at all. It had to be LESS then 20 years old. I traded in my 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 for cash for clunkers last September.
Correct. Can't keep my shit straight. Should have been for the older cars imo. Or better yet, not at all.

should have thought about that before you had kids and lived in a shitty area of the country.

and if you worked all your life to feed your family and you died hungry you are doing it wrong.

We should send these Americans to haiti for a few months and so they know how well they have it and what its really like to be hungry.3

whaaaaaambulence.......look how poor i am with my electricity running water and kitchen appliances.....screw haiti take a stroll through an inner city ghetto.

Considering we're heading towards Haiti, this is a big concern. Rich getting richer, poor getting poorer, and middle class shrinking. It's like a GOP fantasy come true.

I know this family personally. Maybe before doing a story on how poor they are you should really look into the reasons they are sooo poor!! Look at criminal records, Children Services records, and ask around. Drugs and drinking are a big portion of why Mrs. Mash has to support her entire family!! This is a disgrace to those who are "REALLY" working poor!!!! There are plenty of fast food jobs in our county, but as I heard one of the grandchildren say "I'm not working in no fast food joint". There are also college options. We have 2 colleges that are full of financial aide assistance and grants. I know this because I am working poor and I put myself through college without help from my family. I did it all on my own with the assistance of these grants and extra programs. The college is within walking distance of the Mash home and it also has a daycare available!!!

So yea, they are basically piece of shit lazy motherfuckers who make poor life choices. FUCK THEM.

LoL at MSNBC as well for this crappy as appeal to emotion.

If by 'same shit as dave', you mean 'actual studies'.

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2003723064_men26.html

American men in their 30s today are worse off than their fathers' generation, a reversal from a decade ago, when sons generally were better off than their fathers, a new study finds.

In 2004, the median income for a man in his 30s was $35,010, the study says, 12 percent less than for men in their 30s in 1974 — their fathers' generation — adjusted for inflation. In 1994, median income for men in their 30s was $32,901, 5 percent higher than 30 years earlier.

The report also found that between 1947 and 1974, productivity, or output per hour, and median family income, adjusted for inflation, roughly doubled. Between 1974 and 2000, however, productivity rose 56 percent while income rose 29 percent. Between 2000 and 2005, productivity rose 16 percent while median income fell 2 percent, challenging "the notion that a rising tide will lift all boats," the report says.

Only dumbasses (aka conservatives) would believe anything else than a downward trend of the middle class and poor

You don't know anything about Section 8 then Red. It is not confined to areas you would expect it.

This is true. One of my ex's moms was on section 8, she was handicapped and unable to work, and she lived in a rather nice apartment in a very good area of southern california. She wasn't getting a crazy amount either because her rent was much lower than surrounding area because she lived there before even getting section 8.

Ah, i get it, first you think that the middle class and working class getting hurt was a myth, and after i made you look like a total buffoon, it's now about you not wanting to give up your money.

Gotcha.

I was responding to icebergslim's comment about america being nothing like haiti when in fact that's the direction we're slowly heading. The very fact that you thought the american middle class being decimated was some crazy story made up by dave makes you a complete imbecile.
