What if Germany manipulate their middle/highschool text book saying invasion over other countries and colonizing them helped them? It's because North Korea and South Korea are two different countries, yet they're one nationality.
Japan took over Korea until 1945 when thier Hiroshima got bombed. They decided to surrender Korea, so the Soviets took the north half and the US took the south half.
That's how it became North and South Korea. How can South Koreans hate North Koreans? It's not like they separated on their own.

I have a Korean-American friend who's a devout Christian (her grandfather was a pastor in Korea). Their whole family hates Japanese people because they think they are immorral, promiscuous, and lacking family values. They point to things like Hentai, the vending machines where you get school girls panties, prostitution, etc.
But personally I think its all a farce...everyone's entitled to their own moral conviction and its not as if Americans are that much better. Its just the same anti-japanese politics with a "moral superiority" agenda.
