I said the party, not the individuals. The point is that the party deals with this. They own it and deal with the people. The party certainly owned Edwards. Clinton is a bit different, because his issues were a well-established quantity and from what seems likely, was by the time he ran for president a personal agreement between the two of them. It seems that Hillary and Bill were actually pretty open about things, it's just the public nature of their positions where this stuff conflicted. Bill's philandering is only ever known to be consensual. There aren't yet any credible allegations that he raped or abused anyone.
