I’m not sure I could identify the party that owns up to it. I don’t recall Edwards or Clinton owning up to anything. Trump you have to give a pass to, he’s like a special cousin that doesn’t know any better and his whole family is a bunch of enablers.
Seriously, even if any politician started out with no skeletons in their closet it wouldn’t be long until they started piling up.
I said the party, not the individuals. The point is that the party deals with this. They own it and deal with the people. The party certainly owned Edwards. Clinton is a bit different, because his issues were a well-established quantity and from what seems likely, was by the time he ran for president a personal agreement between the two of them. It seems that Hillary and Bill were actually pretty open about things, it's just the public nature of their positions where this stuff conflicted. Bill's philandering is only ever known to be consensual. There aren't yet any credible allegations that he raped or abused anyone.
Weiner. Dealt with. Franken--probably a case of over-zealous reactionary action, but you'd never see the GOP toss a man for anything close to Franken's alleged behavior. Call the seriousness of that response what you will, but the party still owned it.
LoL--give a pass to Trump? Are you serious? We are talking about the POTUS. The mere fact that he was ever close to, let alone is POTUS, disqualifies any "pass" along the lines of "well, he's that special cousin, and it really isn't his fault, so..." LoL wtf man--I don't think a bar has ever been set that low!
We are talking about the parties, remember? You claimed this is "both sides" regarding party transgressions, so when you say give a pass to Trump, you mean give a pass to the GOp for not caring about Trump.
