Is it September yet? The kiddies need to go back to their AMAZING jersey jr high's....

What do you have against NJ? I live here and I don't think it's the best place in the US, but it's nowhere near the worst, either.

But you just seem to hate it for no reason.

Yeah actually I don't think it's the best place in the country either....I just posted this thread because I had thought of the "Lamest State Poll". I remember seeing that thread and all of the people bashing Jersey....it's hardly the worst state to live in. This Deeko guy had his heart crushed by someone in NJ, that's why he is so bitter.

Hey Deeko can you tell me where exactly "Cherry Hilly" is? I know where Cherry Hill is, but not sure of the place you mention.

Actually you need to think about what you are saying here.

1. more finalists in the contest from NJ then any other state.
2. Only state with two towns in the top ten is NJ
3. The two top ten towns are in completely diferent parts of the state, on is up north the other about 2 hours south.

Such jealousy towards a beautiful state....it's so sad.

I commute from Marlton (directly south of Moorestown) to Princeton everyday. They are not two hours apart. On an average day the drive is an hour and ten minutes in traffic. Chatham and Moorestown are about two hours apart.

lol....yeah this guy isn't proving our education system is good in NJ....The two top ten towns ARE Chatham and Moorestown, not Princeton. Read before you post!!!

Ooops, why did I think Princeton was on there instead of Chatham? My bad.

Anyway I agree with 91TTZ. I never said Jersey was the best state, I don't think you can even make that judgement about a state unless it had beaches and was sunny on one side, was snowy on the other side with lots of hills, had no state taxes, and had the best school system. I just don't see why so many people call it a piece of crap when its actually a nice place to live.

It's cool....I was harsh on you anyway, sorry about that. I'm not gonna sit here and say any state is really the best, that is something that can be subjective to such a large number of things. I do think overall if you look at what NJ has to offer it's residents, it should be generalized as a top ten state.

Your point is not relevant. You whined about jughandles. Jughandles are actually a better design, they just were not implemented consistently. Not in PA (Hey look! Another random jughandle!. Not in NJ (Yikes. You might have noticed I was not arguing whether NJ is better or not, simply that jughandles really do work when applied consistently - something that holds true for any geographic location. You can't fault NJ for screwing it up when it's screwed up everywhere else, too.

Actually it was the wonderful Southern NJ educational system that has paved the way for me to earn enough money to live in the area I live in.....I do live quite comfterably too, so thanks.

I hope everyone realizes that I am not really an ass at heart, I just like to annoy this Deeko guy. He has such annomosity towards NJ, not sure why. I know I live in NJ so sure I think it's a great state. I would never really put down any other state, and I have been to 45 states so far in my lifetime.

I already explained where my stance on NJ comes from. I guess they DON'T teach you reading comprehension in those schools.

uhhh...$90 million isn't that much money for a new school....my school district back home is currently working on a $50 million project to expand the high school, after just completing another $70 million new school two or three years ago....

I am sorry that you had some boyfriend (or girlfriend) here who broke your heart and you hate us all for that persons mistake towards you (probably the best decision that person made)......lol

of that 7 million people region, hoboken is one of the most densely populated so i'd be willing to bet that it ranks as one of the most densely populated areas outside of a downtown area anywhere in the US.

Jughandles are not more efficient in most situations. If they were, they'd be everywhere.

it is in this town. considering 2 years ago they built a 1200 student middle school for 22 million. Plans called for 1200-1300 student capacity. Where did the other 70 million come from?

You don't know very many people from New Jersey that live in Philadelphia, do you?

If you heard them constantly talk about New Jersey as if it were a place set aside by God to be the best in the world, for only the best in the world, you'd know where I'm coming from.

Like I said, there are plenty of worse places than Jersey, they just aren't as stuck up and annoying as most Jersey people are.

it wouldn't take much to find an area of nj including hoboken that contained 400k people.

just do a google map search and look at the satellite photos. it clearly shows the northeast part of NJ as being more densly populated than NE philly.

and don't try and talk about how much things have changed since those images. NJ has grown more in that time period than Philly has.

In the PA example, that is a jughandle that you must use to make a left turn off of 202 onto Crooked Lane (I think that's Crooked Lane). The rest of 202 straight through KOP does not have a single other jughandle. In the other PA example, it is the jughandle in Plymouth Meeting that you must use to make a left from WB Ridge Pike onto Alan Wood Road. From Collegeville to Philly, I cannot think of another jughandle on the Ridge. Why build one at Alan Wood Road then? Perhaps the worst part about this particular jughandle is that you have to use the jughandle to turn onto Alan Wood from WB Ridge, but to make a left onto Alan Wood from EB ridge there is a left-turn lane. Talk about sh!tty design....but that's PennDOT's motto, right?
Jughandles are not more efficient in most situations. If they were, they'd be everywhere.
Come on, you KNOW that's not true. The most efficient solution is often not the most common solution. Jughandles are also usually more expensive to build.

Listen, we can argue semantics all night if you want. Maybe Hoboken has 1000 more people/mile than NE, maybe NE has 1000 people/mile than Hoboken. Who knows...regardless, both of them are highly dense areas, and NE gets by without that excessive use of jughandles that is so prevailant in Jersey.

jzero, no, it is not the most efficient solution to the problem. They are incredibly annoying and are only effective in extremely high traffic situations.

LOL. That sounded suspiciously similar to "You're wrong! I'm right! Checkmate! Nyah Nyah!" OK, you must be right then! Cheers.
