This really is a sad story. My friends sister is a meth addict , started getting messed up everyday.Well during this time she had a baby. She was doing drugs, while pregnant. So were looking into long terms effects of the use of meth while pregnant. To see what we can do for the baby. Also this damn mother, does not take care of her child. So the meth heads mom gained the honor to take care of this child. The child is six months old. So Sherry (the meth heads mom) has now taken on a new responsibilityof taking care of the child. Sherry has split the burden of taking care of the baby with her mom and dad. The problem with this is they can't afford to keep on feeding the baby formula, It has come to a situation where it's buy the baby food or don't pay the bills. Sherry and her parent's have looked for some financial aid but noone can help them, until they have gained the rights of the baby. But the mother of the baby wont give up the rights and she is taking no responsibility in getting financial aid for the child.

In response to this situation I am trying to gather enough money/baby formula to help this child out. I am only seventeen but I am doing my best to help this family out because Sherry and her son Jake are good people. They don't deserve this kind of stuff. For more information on the situation go ahead and pm me. Or if you have any ideas on how I might be able to help them, post it.

Bumps appreciated.

Is there any support groups or government agencies where you live that can assist gwarbot? :(

I didn't understand much of that, but from what I did get out of it, it sounds like a pretty fvcked up bunch.

Contact your local Department of Child Services (or whatever it is called in your area) if the child is truly at risk.

Well, I have already had Sherry contact child protection services. But they aren't able to do anything yet because physical abuse only happened to the child once. They are ivestigating at the moment, But with Cassie (The rabid meth head), there is no way for them to contact her. She all over the place she doesn't have ahouse no phone number. I just wish adults could take responsibility for there actions, and not dumping them on someone else.

Can they not make a case for child abandonment if Cassie dumped the child with Sherry and is doing nothing for it?

As for support, contact your local church. My church along with several others in the county formed into a cooperative ministry (Norcross Cooperative Ministry in the Atlanta metro area) along time ago to provide support, food, and other needs for those that truly need it. This sounds like a good case to contact your local church for charitable help. There may be other charities in your area that can help as well.

The mother is supposed to appear in court, But she has skipped out twice, and with our judicial system It could take a little while for action to be taken. Mean while Sherry and her mother are taking care of the child. Hoping that cassie goes to jail. So they can gain the rights of the child and receive support from WIC.

Ok, do I need permission for that sort of thing. Will it cost me anything to do it?

First, setup a Paypal account. Second ask for a sticky here. Third, try contacting local news organizations. They eat this stuff up. Fourth, contact your local church/charitable organization for help.
