W@H Tech: Power off and power on your PC and let me know when its back at the logon prompt
User (like only 5 seconds later): Okay done.
W@H Tech: You powered off/on your PC that fast? Are you sure you turned it off and on?
User: Yes, it went black when it was off and came back to the logon screen when I turned it on
W@H Tech: Are you sure you powered off the COMPUTER and not just the MONITOR/SCREEN?
User: Oh i thought the screen WAS the computer. Are you talking about the IBM box?
W@H Tech: <shoots self>
DOHHHH!!!
Another time, a user was trying to click a button with the mouse by ACTUALLY touching the mouse to the screen apparently. Although I heard this third party so I dont know if it actually happened.
Yep I've had this happen many times. Worse part is some of these people work at a hospital.
If ever I'm diagnosed with something locally, I will demand a second opinion. I really don't trust our local hospital, after all the really dumb calls we get.
Actually had a nurse call in because she got the PC infected while googling for medical information during a surgery. It only dawned to me after "wait, they are relying on google to perform a surgery?"
Then there's people who don't even know the difference between a router and a modem. Modem = the device we put in when you got setup, router = the device that you own and paid for. Without even knowing what they do, it should not be hard to tell the difference. I love it when I have someone's modem status up and I ask them to reboot and they say "done" and it shows "modem uptime: 34 days". Suuuure, how about you try rebooting that again dumbass.
