Well I just got a helpdesk call that her computer just turned off and won't turn back on. So I go up and surely enough it was off and wouldn't turn on when I tried the power button. I peaked underneath the desk and could see that she's been messing with the power strip. I was barely able to hold myself when I noticed she unplugged the power strip from the wall outlet and plugged it into itself.

I don't understand how people can be so stupid. I know how dumb people can be from my years working as a cashier in ShopRite, I just don't understand why....

You may laugh, but that women is Thuper Pwotected from any power surge.

Dear Helpdesk Monkey,

Where did my taskbar go? One minute I was clicking around, and the next thing I know, it is gone.

Thank you,

Corporate Schlub #1246356

PS: If you can help me get a picture of my kids playing with our dog wearing a Patriot's Jersey as my Wallpaper, I would greatly appreciate it.

I must be getting old..and more perverted because I thought that you wrote that she unplugged the strip from the wall and plugged it into herself...

*shakes head* (to clear out the cobbwebs).

I'll bet her face was going red.

The worst, was when the printer in the office started printing out gibberish. Whoever stopped it decided to not waste paper, and put it back in the tray to print on the opposite side.

So I get a call at the helpdesk, a woman is so confused that when she prints, what she prints is fine on one side of the paper, but there is gibberish on the other side. I explain to her how that model of printer is unable to print two sided even if you wanted to, and how someone must have been re-using paper. She wasn't convinced however, told me she was going to call the paper company and complain that they sent paper with printing already on it, and hung up.

because they're not being paid to worry about the computer or the printer..those things are merely appliances, tools to assist the professional in doing the company's work.

I don't get paid to worry about the printer either, but that doesn't mean I'm going to plug a powerstrip into itself. You shouldn't have to be paid for common sense.

I called helpdesk because when I turned on the PC, I got a few beeping sounds and a blank screen. RAM issue, as I had this happen to me on a home PC.

Do I fall under the dumb end user list because I pretended that I did not know how to fix it?
