It's really sad and horrible. I could not honestly witness that as it happened, I would have to leave.
Though I'm going to take a different angle on this, and many of you are going to hate me for it.
Realistically this girl is a complete drain on medical resources. 14 Operations with at least 30 more to come? Gee, I can see insurance rates going up as we speak.
She is literally a failed life form, though we will not accept that and continue to use every resource in our power to "cure" her. Though we have a few million healthy babies with no parents and no resources to live.
I see TV specials in her future after all the operations and such. She still looks horrible, but now has a mostly functioning face. She will thank her parents, and the doctors and god for everything that was given to her. She will say her life is wonderful and she loves every single minute of it. The ridicule in her life was overshadowed by her loving family and supportive "community".
Either way I wish her the best, and hope she can land a decent man.
