As terrible as her deformities are, at least she appears to have otherwise normal development and has a loving family to take care of her.

dont mean to get off the subject but i dont think any ammount of praying or "god-bless"ing will do this girl any good..

It's really sad and horrible. I could not honestly witness that as it happened, I would have to leave.

Though I'm going to take a different angle on this, and many of you are going to hate me for it.

Realistically this girl is a complete drain on medical resources. 14 Operations with at least 30 more to come? Gee, I can see insurance rates going up as we speak.
She is literally a failed life form, though we will not accept that and continue to use every resource in our power to "cure" her. Though we have a few million healthy babies with no parents and no resources to live.

I see TV specials in her future after all the operations and such. She still looks horrible, but now has a mostly functioning face. She will thank her parents, and the doctors and god for everything that was given to her. She will say her life is wonderful and she loves every single minute of it. The ridicule in her life was overshadowed by her loving family and supportive "community".

Either way I wish her the best, and hope she can land a decent man.

if only they have some sort of paypal thing set up as well. I emailed the email that was on the video, but i doubt i'll get a reply since i'm sure they're recieving tons of emails. I recommended paypal, so that the rest of us can pitch in.

(# of AT members)*($1 or $5 or $100) = :)

Question: Realisictically, how long will the child be able to undergo surgery before her tissue begins to break down under the stress/gives out if such a thing were to happen?

Also, how is she mentally?

i went to school with a guy who had that syndrome. he wasnt *as* bad, but still pretty disfigured. he had no lower jaw basically.

poor little girl. if the guy i went to school with was any indication....shes gonna have a rough go of things at school....

man...that breaks my heart to see her dad talk about it.

That's such a sad story :(. It made me feel ok though to see that her parents truely loved her through everything.

She must be able to, since she shakes her head no when her dad shakes his head yes. That would be difficult to learn without seeing.
