Redlining has been replaced with credit score, and credit score doesn't have a number for race.
Home values are determined mostly by simple popularity. The appraised value of a home is based on the selling price of near by homes. If an area isn't popular the price of housing goes down. While that may well be because of racism, it's not policy, it's not a process designed to target blacks, it's a strictly social issue. People tend to naturally segregate. Right here in the city I live in there are areas that are predominantly white, Asian, Black, and Hispanic. I've never thought that was any kind of racism, it's just the way people are.
Oh really?

This happens all the time, but you just choose to ignore the obvious because it doesn't impact you.

Exactly...I wanted to call out his naivety/ignorance, but I think that horse has been beaten beyond recognition at this point lol. Some people are just not interested in learning anything new, especially something going against their preconceived views. I wish him happiness in retirement, in his red state utopia...hopefully he stocks up on some bottled water. :D

Should have sued the appraiser. He almost certainly ignored the comps. The listing agent would also have fit over an appraisal that missed by almost a third.

We should also ignore the centuries of history of racism that still continue like you do to explain a lot of the current situation and just say, well golly gee willickers, if there ain't enough whites around, I guess it ain't good, and those blacks and browns, I thought they just wanted to live that way. everybody just wants to live that way, segregated and with their peeps. just the way it is.

oh btw I am going to ignore every piece of evidence about Trump and repeatedly be willfully ignorant about it and claim I am a moderate conservative.

oh lordy lordy, what a sad fucking country we live in. this is the best the GQP can give us? I think it is.

I don't know why all of you keep acting surprised. He's been very clear the whole time here that he's not interested in learning anything or changing his opinion. He doesn't care, he brags about his ignorance and genuinely believes its more true than any facts or information that can be shown to prove him wrong. At some point I'd think you'd believe it when its about the only thing he's actually been honest about.

Do horses drink bottled water? I mean you guys sure have kept trying to lead that horse to water only to end up perplexed that it won't drink.

Absolutely unacceptable water infrastructure cases that have been in the news.

Flint Michigan
Jackson Mississippi

How are they different, how are they similar?

Flint, 54% black, 38% white
Jackson, 81% black, 16% white

Flint, Average per-capita income $18,253 (lowest in the nation)
Jackson, Average per-capita income $23,714

So which is the trump card, race or income, or are these collaborating partners?

MtnMan,

Some people prefer only to rage and fulminate. Thinking is hard. That's why most love to judge and condemn.

What was that about all of it being the city's fault through mismanagement and/or corruption? Can you say projection?

"As Reeves climbed Mississippi’s political ladder, he cited his opposition to financially helping the capital as evidence of his fiscal conservatism. Jackson-area lawmakers say the troubled water system is one example of Jackson’s status as a political punching bag for Republican officials, who control the Legislature and the state Bond Commission."

Fuck tate reeves.

Those of you trying to blame Miss problems on Dems, have you kept up with the Bret Favre scandal? He worked with the GOP Governor to steal funds from their welfare 5 mil so Bret could have a volleyball stadium but at his alma mater because his daughter was on the team at the time. Text messages show Bret knew he was DOJ g something. They stole money from the fund designated to help the poorest people of this country

This is your cherished GOP party

How do you explain well to do blacks including some famous people like DL Hughley having their homes severely undervalued until the removed all evidence sellers are black?? They have been upper middle class couples this happened to including doctors and lawyers. There was an interracial couple who upon getting a lowball appraisal his the wife who is black and the new value came in fair

How do you explain that other then systemic racism??

This is dumb as shit. credit score actually makes the problem more quantifiable, not less, because there's a numeric variable you can analyze.

What kind of credit scores are given to black vs. white applicants when controlling for income, assets, and liabilities?

What kind of loans (both amount and interest rates) are offered to white vs. black applicants when controlling for income and credit score, when looking to buy a home or a car, for example?

What kind of home valuations are given to black vs. white people in the same neighborhood with basically the same houses?

Processes that aren't explicitly designed to target blacks, but still do so unfairly, is part of systemic racism.

Closing down polling places in major cities in the name of cost savings doesn't explicitly target black people. But it 100% is designed to do so.

That's the tip of the iceberg.
I think there's an article that says they're looking into what happened to 74-84M from the Fed that was supposed to help the poorest people in Mississippi.

Brett favre is quickly becoming one entitled POS.
