Think I may be passing my 8th kidney stone.

shortylickens

No Lifer
Passed the 7th one in the ER this morning.

Should I go back and do my next one there, or tough it out at home?
I've passed several on my own at home anyway, aside from the extreme pain its not so bad.

i'm going to be 30 this year and am happy to say i have never had to pass a kidney stone. i have no desire to start either!

good luck with it!

Have you thought about possibly why you're getting so many? You could have a go not eating so much meat/seafood and trying to get more calcium, like through dairy or something.

my step-son's had these for many years. you have my sympathy.

I'm going to jump on a limb and say that the biggest reason is genetic. Add that with diet and it's a recipe for shooting pellets in the toilet.

Any time someone even MENTIONS kidney stones, I have to go chug a litre of water. It's like a drinking game.

You guys are morans.
I drink a gallon of water every day and gave up soda years ago.

Sorry to hear it isn't helping.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidney_stone#Prevention

A key principle for the prevention of kidney stones is to increase urine volume. The relative probability of kidney stone formation decreases as urinary volume increases.[56] Because of this, maintenance of dilute urine by means of vigorous fluid therapy is beneficial in all forms of nephrolithiasis. Fluid intake should be sufficient to maintain a urine output of 2 to 3 litres (68 to 100 US fl oz) per day.[55] A high fluid intake has been associated with a 40% reduction in recurrence risk.[44]

LOL, what else is there?

Aside from the extreme pain, getting shot in the stomach ain't so bad either.

How many stones does one get in one session? 😕

FCUKERS!
Now the little bastard really wants to come out. But I cant afford a trip to my local hospital. Will have to do it the hard way, with a bucket of water and a bottle of Advil.

I really need some fucking insurance. I think my Credit Union tried to offer me some a while back but I didnt care at the time.

Gotta get up in a few hours to drive my mom out to the train station.
Life sucks.

Have you considered going to an urgent care center where they'll charge you a reasonable price you can pay in cash? They could probably at least give you better painkillers. Going to a hospital is pretty much unaffordable without insurance but seeing a doctor is not.
