That doesn't justify personal ownership.

A means to provide via hunting and defend your home does justify their ownership. The Constitution allows it as a right as well. If that's not something you agree with, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. But you have shown that guns do not have to be used as a weapon. You also seem not to care if murder rates increase so long as the person hasn't been shot. So, I really am not sure what to think of you at this point, it's not making much sense to me in all honesty.

That's like saying if you outlaw spoons only outlaws will own spoons, yes you if you make something a crime and people commit the crime they are criminal. Congrats on understanding basic English.

Guns aren't weapons although they can be used to kill. GUNS ARE WEAPONS AND WEAPONS ALONE
Yes, guns are weapons. And I certainly like to be a able to have a reliable and deadly weapon when someone is entering my home with the possible intent of attacking me. Anyone who doesn't think that people should be legally able to defend themselves from an attacker with deadly force is an idiot.

Try putting yourself in the situation of being attacked by a lunatic with a knife. Are you going to wish you had a gun with bullets, or be glad that you can't go out and buy one because killing someone with a gun is wrong? I bet it's going to be the former, and you're going to grab a kitchen knife or a bat to kill him with instead. Same thing, but with a higher risk of injury to yourself.

Who says you get to decide that? Huh? Why are you assuming I'm going to kill someone just because I own a gun? Do you think I'm a criminal?

God I'm so glad that hundreds of years ago the idiots on this piece of land kicked the shit out of your kind so I wouldn't have to live in a shit hole world governed by the same views you share.

Why do you have a computer? For work? That doesn't justify personal ownership. Oh pleasure? Doesn't justify personal ownership. Computers are used for child porn and hacking, both of those things are illegal.

It doesn't make sense because he is a fucking moron. You just have to beat it into his head that he's a moron. I think he'll sharpen up once he realizes he's constantly on blast for being fucking retarded.

There is no valid reason to own a gun if other people don't have them. The world is safer if no one has guns. That is pretty much the case in the UK. It's safer.

Farmers/land workers, frequently own firearms..surprise, even in the UK!

That they do.

We've been through this, it happened to me and I hit him with a bottle.

how do you feel about hunting animals, killing them, and feeding your family with them? I don't care what apparatus you use to do the killing, just curious about your feelings on the subject.

I think it's immoral.

Read this if you want to know more about what I think on this subject.

uh... someone in the UK does have a gun though, criminals and the government have guns.

How do you eat? Something HAS to die for you to survive. That's how life works, be it plant or animal. Those were living things that you or someone else at one point had to KILL for your sustenance.

Someone tell bfdd he's on my ignore list for hurling insults while I was trying to have a normal conversation.

But there are guns. Bad guys have guns, even in countries where the law prohibits ownership of firearms. Doesn't Mexico have some of the strictest gun laws? Bad guys don't care about the law. They will get guns if they want them. Murders still happen even where there are strict firearm laws.

Ok, same situation, but pretent you are a 100lb woman and the guy with a knife is 6' 200lbs.

Oh and, we should ban bottles? You could have busted his skull...

Actually you can own shotguns, or section 2's, as long as you have a permit (which any citizen not a criminal is granted that right) and can safely stow it. Rifles, section 1's, you just need to show intent (hunting for example), and you can own them as well. Handguns for whatever reason aren't allowed.

True, but now it is a rare occurrence in the UK

I'd have asked someone else in the pub for help

I did, and no.

So much fail my head hurts. This has turned into a generic gun control debate thread, and I don't think I have ever read a worse gun debate position that this.

ProTip©: Gun control debate is not new to Americans. You might want to come up with something better than "I think you shouldn't have that, too dangerous, so let's make it illegal for everyone cause I say so!".

I never said they should have it, I said I don't agree with it, everyone else started saying who am I to decide these things etc... I'm not, I just disagree with it.

He's from the UK, they're use to telling the world what they can and can't do, so he doesn't understand shit.
