There's a line around the block at the Gas Station!

Mwahaha, I'm going to continue to drive my 12mpg cruiser (premium gas) daily, in Canada where we have $5.00 a gallon prices and not complain about it.

40c hops for no justifiable reason = gouging IMO.

Let's strike ahead of the excuses:
land barges- no more driving on the roads than yesterday
lebanon- no worse violence than yesterday
refineries- no drop in production or increase in cost since yesterday
shipping- on time and no sinking
unions- not an issue
bad management- record profits?
iraq- no worse than yesterday, no major attacks
middle east- no less stable than normal. besides, its not like lebanon produces much oil...

any other excuses I forgot besides salivating execs?

btw, I saw a couple mentions of 50 gallons every 2 weeks as being an "average" commuter. I've long been under the impression that 12k is about the average a car is driven per year. 1300 gallons times even 10 miles per gallon is more miles than an average car. Far from an average commuter. Perhaps average in your local neck of the woods, but nationally? No where near average for commuting.

i have always thought those "national averages" were BS. It sould be broken down to regions to be more accurate. the 12K a year may be and proably is correct for the peoplel living on the East coast. however 12K a year for people living in the plains or the West is in my opinion not even close. places in the plains and the west are spread out a whole lot more and we have to drive a bit further each year compared to people who in the east.

My brother and I were riding our bikes when we passed a Speedway at $3.75/gallon. Less than a mile down the road there were a bunch of cars at an Admiral where gas was $3.27/gallon. 48 cents difference! Craziness. I'm glad I got my bike now. 🙂

I think I might buy a couple gallons of premium today and start a brush fire in my back yard.

i lol'ed.

i love the people that think that gas prices dont affect them because they only drive so far to work or they drive a metro or something. the market for gas is so huge is affects everyone all the time, whether directly or indirectly.
and im surprised i havent heard mention of the obvious conspiracy between gas companies and auto companies. metros got 45+ mpg 15 years ago and mileage hasnt gotten any better since.

I don't give a rats ass if I pay $10 more a week to drive. If you don't like it, drive less or get a smaller car.

You are either very poor, just an asshat, or profitting from this situation.

I vote for option #2.
