west los angeles. yes Im sheltered, the only time I see anything that isn't a dog, cat, or piegeon is at the zoo...
 
congrats?

there are always ducks in my back yard, every morning, swimming, or on the grass... hell, we watched them grow up 😀

Yup. It is indeed a hybrid between a domestic duck and a mallard. The blue wing bars are highly suggestive of that.
