Like I said, guilty until proven innocent for the slimeball Republicans, the liberal way! Don't you worry he'll be back in action as Majority Leader soon.Originally posted by: shira
DeLay's attorneys MAY be able to convince a jury that Texas law is only 99.99999% explicit about what "money laundering" means. And maybe a gullible jury will think that .00001% is "reasonable doubt". So it's possible that DeLay will be able to beat the rap.Originally posted by: zendari
Delay being innocent upsets you that much?
Unfortunately for him, he'll be as innocent in the public eye as OJ is. EVERYONE who looks at what happened in Texas (the money-shifting shenanigans and the out-of-cycle gerrymandering) knows that DeLay is a scum bag (even Republicans say so off the record). EVERYONE knows he broke the law in spirit and in principle, even if he walks.
But the beauty - the irony - is that his career is officially over, starting today. Maybe "in fact" that's not yet true. But he's a dead man walking.
Good riddance, slime ball.
In the mind of people who hate him like you I suppose he will always be guilty. But 50% of his work is done.
I wonder why liberals have so little respect for our justice system.
