MarshallJ, don't mind those who have resorted to calling you names. You raise a good point indeed. I have avoided political and serious discussions primarily for the reason you mentioned. However, I am not sure that AT is an exception. In fact, I would say that those forums with civil discussions are exceptions. Nevertheless, the irony with AT is that it's a forum with many technically savvy members, One would expect the same level of intelligence and maturity when those same members participate in non-technical discussions, yet when it comes to political discussions and social issues there's a tendency for masses to congregate and resort to calling the opponents and dissenters names. Hardly do they state their facts and reasoning or constructively refute the arguments of the dissenters.

I would venture to say that it is indeed likely the age tendency at this forum. Most (including myself) are pretty young people. Sadly though, the few older folks whose posts I read aren't any better. Confusing, isn't it? :/
