I'm trying. A few people have flamed me already in this thread and I've tried not to react in the same way. Instead, I've tried to calmly address their criticisms.

What flames?

I'm so undecisive, I can empathize with any opposing viewpoint without making a decision about my own opinions.

How about this one:

oh man, I don't even know where to start with this one. As far as I'm concerned, you're one of the more immature people I've ever seen on these forums among those who contribute to the more "serious" topics. I am young and opinionated, before you start using that as a flame tactic instead of the civil debate you claim to want. Whenever someone disagrees with what you say or your viewpoint, you begin attacking them, often about their supposed age, no matter how well thought out or respectful their post was. You use the youth of those you disagree with to disregard them and discount their opinions so you can feed your superiority complex. If you can't see you're using this argument for an excuse to aviod real discussion, where shockingly enough, someone might have a valid point that you don't agree with, then I'm sorry. Yes, this is a flame. Search if you want, I almost never flame anyone. I really don't care to argue about this, I just wanted to state my opinion

That's a flame if I ever saw one. And he even said "Yes, this is a flame" within his flame...

your not trying. the whole premise of this thread is hypocritical and insulting. how do you expect people to respond to your patronizing. not only are you patronizing by you specifically point out young people.

my point was, just don't flame in other threads.

oh btw, i flame all the time, but that's part of WHY i'm part of this forum to unload stuff like that.

Funny you should ask, I asked as well. I doubt he will answer, probably some 14 year old trying to gain internet attention.

As I've said before, general rules of a conversation or debate state to attack the *idea*, not the person expressing it.

For instance, if someone brings up an idea that you find ridiculous, you should state why his idea is not valid... but you should not change the focus to the individual and call him an idiot.[/quote]

Thats what internet forums are for though. So you can talk to people, and also for flaming people that post stupid stuff. Everyone here is an internet tough guy (or girl). Attacking the person is funnier than attacking the idea.

It's "You're" and yes I am trying.

People say my skin is too thin if I get offended by someone's flame. Yet you claim that you're offended by the whole premise of this thread...

I never even singled you out and you got offended.

I've been here much longer than a couple of months, just this screen name is a couple of months old.

I was around when Dennilfloss used to post all the time, and when Troll Under the Bridge (Guy Under the Bridge) used to spout his anti-AMD, pro Intel/Rambus junk.

Huh? LeeTJ is 38. He wasn't offended personally, just like i'm not (and i'm older than you as well). I'm offended that you singled out the teens and young adults on this forum.

Marshall:

You = hypocrite.

As pointed out by others, you were the first to post inflammatory garbage in the vegetarianism thread. You got flamed for it and are now crying about it in this thread.

Want civil replies? Offer civil observations. Easy as that.

You have a lot of nerve coming in here with hardly a month of being registered under your belt and passing judgement on the whole forum.

oh btw, if i want to abbreviate you're to your i will. and if i want to abbreviate it farther to ur i'll do that too.

it's not like you didn't know what i meant.

Compared to what I've seen in other threads, most of these "flames" here are generally sarcastic and light. If that "flame" offended you then maybe you should take a break from the forums.............
