:hmm:

this argument may have achieved a new level.

let's give cheesepie to the cake people, and the pie people will retain pizza-pie.

I think it's over, boys.

Not all cake people WANT cheese-pie...personally, I don't care for the stuff...BUT, I do have to concede the wondrous thing known as pizza, to the pie world.

With my recent makings of Blueberry Pie, Super Apple Pie, Lemon Meringue Pie and Shoo-fly Pie, I'll side with pie. Thanks Alton Brown...

Oh, I dislike cheese pie as well.

I offer it to the cake people as no loss to the pie Battalion; for as to the Cake Squad, it is something to be cherished, and does give them a useful soldier in the fight.

The consortium of bread lovers have decided to claim Pizza as our own. In the process we have also bought out 51% of pie and pudding, making us the most powerfully delicious group of foods ever.

Non-sense, everyone knows it's pizza-pie. You bread lovers even came up with "Pizza Bread", which is a sad attempt to claim pizza as your own.

Personally, I think cake is overrated and impersonal. It starts to lose it's appeal after half a day when it starts to either melt or dry out. Pie on the other hand is what all desserts aspire to be. Not to mention you never see a pie "go bad" like cake, but then again you never see an old pie either - that's because it get's eaten up right away.

Bread doesn't need pizza, and bread wins anyway by default. bread doesn't need all this trickeration like toppings and fillings to easily destroy cake and pie. I mean...there is no competition here.

pizza belongs with pie, if anywhere.

The pie people can claim both pizza and cheesecake, as for the cake people, let them eat cake.

In addition to my membership in The Righteous Followers of the Cake, and The Crazed Cabal of Pie, I'm also a devout member of The Insidious Consortium of Bread.
While I wouldn't walk across the room for banana bread, my wife makes a FABULOUS cranberry-orange bread that rivals cake for scrump-deli-iciousness. Served warm with fresh butter...and a nice hot cup of coffee...mmm.mmm.mmmmmmm.mmmm!
Of course, there's absolutely nothing wrong with cranberry scones, (another member of the bread tribe) or just freshly made white bread.

I must disagree good sir. Exhibit A:

A flatbread and pizza pie are more often than not indistinguishable. Despite being named incorrectly, pizza is clearly in the bread family. Toppings are very normal in the bread family, with buttered toast and jams, not to mention syrup on your french toast.

By claiming pizza, we are now the most popular food group in any given week.

Fruitcake: bad cake or awful bread?

We make no claim for the fruitcake. It is clearly an abomination of the cake people and proof that they are clearly a disgusting race that must be eradicated. Clearly.

I had an awkward moment today when a cupcake was offered to me. I declined politely commenting that I am not a cake eater. I giggled on the inside.

one twin inherited the best genes of both of its parents. this twin was named cheesecake.

the other twin inherited the worst genes of both of its parents. this twin was named fruitcake.

flatbread pizza is what happens when poor people are too lazy, and/or stupid to make real bruschetta.

I sit on the fence on this issue so that I may partake in the pleasure of enjoying THEM ALL!

PS What would something like cinnamon roll fall under? Bread?

1. Cheesecake is a custard.
2. Cheesecake can be pie if it has a crust, but it can never be cake.
3. There is no such thing as "eggless" cheesecake- that is just a lump of cream cheese.
4. Zucchini/banana breads are breads. A subset of bread is quick bread. A quick bread is a bread leavened chemically and designed to cook immediately. Both cake and muffins are subsets of quick breads. Zucchini/banana bread is more closely related to muffins than cakes due to their uneven crumb.
5. Pizza is not a pie as it's crust is neither pastry nor crumb.
