I don't think they've ever directly come out and explained anything, at least not through the show itself, maybe in some interviews I've never seen or perhaps even in the comics which I dont read... but they might have slipped in clues to try and get viewers to jump to that conclusion on their own, such as having certain survivor groups calling the zombies "rotters" instead of "walkers", etc, although a rotting skull should still provide more protection than a butter has against a hot knife.

at any rate that would be an even lazier writing tactic to make up for their original lazy writing/direction/production

there is far less to fear from "squishy" zombies and whenever characters encounter them (like in the warehouse in this most recent ep) they should just be easily taken out like they're always depicted outside of when its more convenient to suddenly have them be this super difficult threat that creates drama that otherwise doesn't make sense.

that being said its not a flaw that breaks the show, but it could be a lot more interesting if they hammered down some of these complexities instead of just reshaping them to whatever might be more convenient week to week

Its been discussed a few times on talking dead and about one hundred times in this thread 🙂

I think what annoys people who are OCD-ish is that they sometimes portray zombies as having skulls that can be easily squished by stomping on them once...Yet 10 minutes later they are literally ripping a person's face off. If anything, limbs and small appendages should be the first things to become weak and brittle.

Yeah, the inconsistencies in strength and difficulty to kill is annoying at times, not to mention the recurring stealth zombie that sneak up silently to attack (when all the other ones sound like rosanne bar going for a buffet table and can be heard from a mile away). Still enjoyable, you just have to ignore that kind of stuff, or add your own "solution" logic: the virus causes bones to liquify over time depending on what the zombie does and what kind of health it was in when it died. That explains why some are squishy and easy to kill, while others have hands of steel that can't be escaped and the strength of an average NFL linebacker.

Finally caught up with the last three episodes. Very enjoyable episodes. Was happy to finally get some more Eugene.

Also, Carol is fucking awesome.

When the zombies in riot gear where first introduced in Season 3, I got a big kick out of it. As a gamer, my first thought was that they'd reached Level 2 and were now fighting higher level zombies. Obviously that's not the case but I'm still hoping for improved zombies. Running zombies would be truly awesome but the limbs shouldn't be able to survive the impact. Well, they *shouldn't* but given how thin their skulls are I'm surprised they can even stand up. Anyway, zombies with jetpacks would be great, too.

I knew I remembered Gabriel from somewhere...Starship Troopers!

Drunk, alone movie night has its benefits:awe:

I hope Ricks group slaughter the coward group! The only person I care is Glenn. If he dies I riot!
Just kill the baby I don't give a F, but please don't kill Glenn. Thank you 😉

Please no fire breathing zombies.

What. Is this a joke?

Eh? He's got good points - the episodes have started to pick up (last episode was awesome, I love it when they jump into insanity mode!), Carol is awesome, and Eugene is starting to grow as a character. And c'mon, all of us ATOT'ers relate to him more than Duke Nukem

There have been plenty of Eugene's havnt there. He is cool tho I can deal with him, seems like an alright guy. Carol needs to be killed. Religious man needs to be blown up.

Agree on the priest. Fuck that guy. Carol is the freaking best; when she scared the shit out of that kid I laughed my ass off.

I also thought it was nice to finally have Glenn not be a worthless non-character for a change. He had become completely worthless.

Enjoying it so far, biggest headache of TWD is how stupid they are with resources. One time they're like, ah man we should start looting and checking dead bodies, so they check one, and then ignore the cache of shit they just left behind, or the cleaner looking dead bodies? I am so confused, they either need to ignore it entirely, or show more of it.

plenty of extreme cowards who have otherwise overcome such a crippling handicap in such a world through wit and deception alone? No, I don't recall any other characters like that, none even close. And of course now the group knows that he was a fraud and now he has to start pulling his weight and we get to see him evolve or die; if anything I'd go as far as to say that he's one of the most interesting characters right now, or at least the writers certainly have that potential with him.

With shit apparently about to go down pretty bad in Alexandria, I'd say Eugene would be the best chance of defusing the situation

Carol needs to be killed.
you didn't enjoy when she went cold blooded Rambo against Terminus? I'll admit that I didn't like what they did with her in this latest episode as I feel like she was too stupid and rather out of character in dealing with the kid after she threatened him, but for the most part I love her character.

Religious man needs to be blown up.
I'd setting for Abraham beating him to death.

The hell. Carol is awesome.

This.

Carol can no longer die. She has transcended into TV immortality. Killing her would be worse than killing Rick or Daryl. Carol had her character arc evolution, and people loved it. Her sole purpose now is to force other character to evolve. She failed with Tyrese and the girls and is working Daryl. Although, the two gay guys are now helping his.

I think she's gone too far and can't/won't come back. You're right in her role, but I think the group will eventually reject her tactics before too long. While they are exploring the group's darker side these last few episodes I think that's temporary.

I don't think so. Rick initially rejected Carol's nature, as did Tyrese. Both accepted it was for the best. They (the group) understand that Carol may not always be right, but she won't stand around do nothing while her family is in danger. She did that before and lost.

Rick did reject her. He forced her to leave after the burning of the sick people but it was Carol who came back and single-handedly took down Terminus. 😎

And Rick realized it takes great lengths to protect the ones you care for shortly before Terminus. He won't fault Carol for what she has become, because he understands why she became that way.
