Good episode!
Yes. He was part of a team that developed that. "Fight fire with fire". I am really hoping he is full of shit, as it is the most idiotic shit one could think of. I swear, it is like anyone with moderate intelligence has died off. Who would believe this guy?
We're back to this shit again?really hoping the guy in the vest isn't Negan... I need a break from him after his like 200 issue story arc in the comics.
I thought that whole thing was so anti-climactic. I just kept thinking "that's it?" He didn't even seem entirely convinced it would work; mostly just, "it should work."
With the insane popularity of this show do you think we will see some spin-offs anytime soon? Also, should there be a separate season 5 thread?
I think there is one, a spin-off that is. I kept seeing commercials for "The Driving Dead" with Merle in it, though I can't recall if it was a mini series or some kind of webisodes or something.
I wouldn't mind some one shots though. Hour and a half TV movies about some unrelated characters in the world. Perhaps, with very small tie ins to the show. Just to give some more background story to the shape of the world.
So, can anyone identify Carol's piece?
Looks like an M16, newer model.
I was thinking more like a whole new series based in a different area of the country.
Hard to tell. It has a louder bark than a .223, but we all know those sound effects are added. It also was able to puncture a propane tank.... Which while I'm not an authority, I think a .223 would potentially fail to dent the dam thing. So I'm thinking 7.62/.308.
It didn't look like an AR, and the fore stock looked more like a modern style M-14.
They could stagger the seasons, maybe run the other series during the late spring and summer. It would be competing with the Walking Dead, and AMC doesn't want that. Even if it was like Wednesday prime time, they still don't want competing entities. That is why I suggested something along the lines of some one offs, covering something that happened outside of the main story. Perhaps, what happened to some character that was just fodder. A family before they found Mayberry or something.
Sometimes I want to cringe watching the show. No one would choose a cross bow or a sword.

Awesome season opener.
The first guy who got his throat slashed was the guy rick met with his girlfriend. They set off to get some supplies and they find the girl dead and the guy nowhere to be found. I thought I recognized him then they mentioned him on talking dead.
Loved the episode and the seamless integration of VFX and makeup. Amazing work with the blood and the walker eating the nose was GRUUUUUSOME.
Ohhhhh....
Why'd they focus so much on the corpse on the slab?

Have you guys really not heard about the spinoff yet?
300 meets The Walking Dead. I'd watch it.Why would no one choose a crossbow? It is very effective, draws much less attention in terms of noise, and has recoverable ammunition (plus, you could craft the ammunition better). While, it is a bit unwieldy in a situation where you have to fire multiple shots in rapid succession, a gun could always be carried as a last resort. I would argue that unless necessary, guns should be saved for encounters with other humans.
A sword isn't the best choice, but it isn't terrible. It has more effective range than a knife or bat, but you have to know how to effectively use it. I'd much prefer a spear with some type of riot shield, as it would be great for defending in tight spaces and offer some protection from frontal zombie assaults. Plus, it is harder to break and blunt.
