The V is getting more grunt

So far I've been enjoying the hell out of the V (2011 6spd manul). However, one of the biggest draws to the car was the supercharged V8 and the ability to squeeze more out.

So far, I've installed an AirRaid intake. Not sure if it provided any gain, but I can now hear the supercharger when getting on it, but remains whisper quiet when just cruising.

Next steps are the following:

Lingenfelter Overdrive damper
Lingenfelter 18% overdrive ring
Racing Belt
Lingenfelter 160* Thermostat
Custom Dyno tuning

If that's not enough:

Long tube headers
LS9 cam
Cat-back exhaust

The schedule build date is 8/19 and I will be able to watch the entire process. I will post of pics, video and the dyno graphs. I'm hoping for around a 70whp increase on 93 octane while maintaining the longevity and driveability that I currently have.

(This may also help Alky decide on the V if things go well :) )

Nice! Which shop is doing the work?

I decided to go with Vengance which is my town. They work with Wait4Me performance as well as Lingenfelter and tune many LSx engines. They had a couple dozen C6 Vettes, new Camaros, GTO and G8 sitting at the shop which was exciting to see.

Damn. I totally envy you. What about your other CTS that you had? You still have it?
Is this the coupe or the sedan?

The last CTS was a lease and it was turned in when I purchased this one. GM was offering their early lease turn in so I got out 6 months early. I have a sedan for the 4 doors and usable back seat. I really wanted a coupe, but after sitting in one, it was a no-go.

I like the look of the sedan much more than the coupe. You made a good choice going with the sedan.

Vengeance installed the sway bars and GHL exhaust on my vette and did a free oil change for me. I like the guys there. Very nice and laid back. Ron also charged me 1/2 of what MTI wanted.

Ron was really great and did beat what MTI offered. I also like that I can be in the shop for the installation and dyno session.

save your money on the stat.... completely worthless. if your car runs at 185 degrees, a stat that opens at 160 will be doing nothing for you

small pulley is usually the highest recommendation across the CTS-V board.

Catback if you want a louder car.

Man, I was just trying to figure out what a V was...

It's an SUV manufactured by General Motors. It seats 20 and gets 6.3MPG with a 9L V8. Fat republicans from mostly poor backgrounds with little financial sense purchase them. They drive them while eating giant greasy hambugers. They have blue collar jobs. The vehicle cannot be operated while wearing penny loafers.

See, my first thought was that it was a melted jellybean with leather seats, no sunroof, no NAV, and crappy GM interior plastics. Now I realize that it's an overpriced Cadillac sedan that's worth slightly more than your Mum's bloomers on the used car market. :p

should be jelly

I'd want one just to roast ricers (not including the fact that it's an amazing car)
