I saw that a couple of stores sell the Dr. Scholls contour pillow. Has anyone seen this pillow? How would you rate it among the other pillows at BBB, LNT, Brookstone, etc... Here is a link to the pillow. Pillow

FLEA MARKETS!

I went to the "largest indoor flea market in the South" in Tupelo, MS and there was a guy selling these pillows. The large ones were $40 and the tiny one was $15. As I was explaining to my gf about the Temperpedic pillows, and how these were immitation, I got closer and saw they were the REAL THING!?! I offered the guy $50 for one of the tiny ones plus the curved one for your neck (the millenium pillow I think) and he said sure. Slept on them and LOVE THEM!!!!! Try a flea market I haven't been to one in years but it is well worth your while if it's a big one--you find SO many HOT DEALS. Plus no tax or shipping he he

They really have GREAT prices. I got one of their Latex Mattresses and it is AWESOME. if your not sold on the latex they also have the traditional pillowtop serta, simmons etc imitations. better than the original and a lot cheaper.

I don't think their spring counts quite match up to the real deal though...the really high end Simmons sets have nicer counts.

I think the different ends are for different peoples prefences there is no right or wrong, just nore or less comfortable based on your personal prefences.

LOL, kinda funny to think a pillow would need instructions ;)
You forgot to mention...flip it over...sometimes the bottm is just right, particularly for side sleepers.

Anyone care to comment on the difference or their preference for the contoured pillow or the "classic" pillow types? Seems like the contoured pillow would add more neck support but the classic just looks cool. :)

Anyway, just curious what everyone thinks.

You must be talking about the Outlast Adaptive Comfort Bedding. I have been trying to find where they sell it but have had no luck.

Just to keep this thread up and going. After reading through everything again, I'm strongly considering one of the mattress toppers. As mentioned in an earlier post, Mark's 1/2 Price Bedding sells on ebay and also has a separate page at http://www.memoryfoam.net. One of the interesting aspects is his message board where he answers lots of questions regarding memory foam. Might be useful for someone wanting more specific information on memory foam. I'd like to pick something up locally (Minneapolis) to avoid shipping costs & holiday rush but can't find anything. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. It's hefty but it's got a lot of good stuff in it.

Oh, just remembered. Seems like in the message board from the above link, stomach sleepers should consider nor more than 2'' pads. Any comments?

I just picked up a 3" queen sized memory foam topper from www.memoryfoam.net aka Mark's 1/2 price bedding. I got the topper, a pillow, covers for both, for about $200. I have to say that I'm very satisfied with the quality. It's taken about a day for the new foam smell to go away, but I'd recommend purchasing from them to anyone.

I bought the Perfect Pillow from LNT based on this forum and I love it.

I also bought a 2" mattress pad from the foam factory and I can't use it.
I have an air mattress and the foam counters the effect of the matress so it's like two positives
making a negative. I did cut it down a little to make it fit since they sent me an oversized pad.

I am now selling it cheap, but won't ship. If anyone in the New Hampshire area wants it shoot me a PM.
I am selling it for $45 or less then half of what I paid.

Thanks for all the great info on the pillow though. I really do love it. Although I hate to touch it out of it's case.

For Christmas I bought my wife the combo pillow from JCPenny.com, and we're taking it back today. The outer "casing" is pretty stiff, as is the stuffing. She gave up on it after 3 nights.. so i tried it and gave up with a sore neck after two hours. I guess it's just too overpacked with down for my tastes.

Apparently this place is selling Isotonic Memory pillows made by the Carpenter company for $55 with free shipping.

THey also have a 30 day money back trial.

There's also a FAQ comparing theirs to Tempur-pedic. Obviously it's a bit skewed on their side, but nevertheless a good read

After reading ~500 posts on this, I think I'd like to get a 3" 4# mattress pad for my Full bed.

On ebay, there are two main different sellers, Mark's 1/2 Price Bedding, and foambymail/Foam Factory Inc. Each sell a nearly identical set of mattress pad and pillow for FULL sized beds, for $145 and $131 shipped, respectively.

I've read that quite a few people are happy with their purchase from Mark's 1/2 price, but has anyone purchased from foambymail?

Also, it doesn't seem like anyone actually auctions these. 99% on ebay that I've seen are all buy now for the full price. What have people been paying for a similar 3", 4# full mattress pad?

Thanks for all the info posted here so far!

I brought the 3 inch 4 lb twin size couple of weeks ago from mark's 1/2 price bedding.
It arrived 4 days ago, sleeping much better since. I don't think it can really compare to the real thing(tempur-pedic), but for the price(95+ 25 shipping), its very good.
The free pillow is very soft foam, much softer than the bed. I might get a 4 inch one and give the 3 inch to my sister, its only $20 more.
I've been waiting for months to see if the price would drop, but it doesn't seem to change much.

Just got my 3 inch pad from memoryfoam superstore on ebay and I must say I know what the fuss is about now. I tend to sleep on my shoulder and that would give me pains but no longer. I might add that using the pillow with the pad makes the pillow comfier. My shoulder depresses the pad enough that the pillow is at the right height. It no longer feels flat. A hail uva deal considering the price of tempurpedic mattresses. Hard to imagine them being much better.

I bought a memory foam bed from overstock.com. It is a Carpenter brand (iso-pedic). Here's the current deal:

$999 Queen size mattress & box spring:
$899 - 10% off coupon currently available.
$2.95 shipping

Total $902.94

This was the best deal I found on a complete, shipped, name-brand memory foam bed.

So far, it's very comfortable.
