I also wish someone would summarize 11 pages of threads for the late people.
Yep, that's where I got mine.

As far as summarizing all the deals in the thread... al of of them are for a short time only. So including them in any summary would not work. Read the first post to get the gist and then the last couple of pages for new deals. Mark's 1/2 price bedding and Memory Foam superstore are 2 ebay vendors. Mark's regular web page is memory foam.net, I think. The isotonic and tempurpedic are the 2 best pillows. Bed Bath & Beyond has both. For the pads, you want 4 lb density and 3" or 4" thickness. I got 3" and maybe would like 4". The tempurpedic mattress is good but expensive. Probably doing a little research on your own to expand the thread and look for new deals would be good. That's how I found the Memory Foam superstore. In your pillow search, the pillow should be one piece. If it's 2 pieces glued together then you're getting 2 types of pillow. Of course, there are the down/foam combo's and the foam/towel combo's(home made). These are a different animal. Keep an eye out for the deal and post it here, unless the mods open up a foam forum and then you can post it there. ;)

Good summary, clarkmo, and I would agree that isotonic and tempurpedic are the best two brand names of memory foam. You know what you are getting, so find the best price on these. You get what you pay for. However, I would disagree on the thickness needed for pads. An isotonic brand 2" mattress topper is plenty. This is a very popular thickness sold at retail stores for a reason. I think the need for thicker pads are because of cheaper foam.

One thing to note is that some ppl have been saying the tempurpedic pillows are losing some of "foaminess" after a few years. If you buy from brookstone, they will exchange free of charge for a new pillow (that's what many ppl have reported). So it may be worth it just to bite the bullet and buy from brookstone -- that's what I'm doing today actually.

Thanks clarkmo! Looks like that 4lb 4" is what I need. Can anyone tell me how your spouse feels about the 4" pads? My wife and I both need a change from our Sealy Postur-pedic.

Question -- with a 4" mattress pad topper, do your bed sheets still fit as normal?

I don't think so. Some of the sellers seem to be claiming that anything more than a 2" probably won't work with standard sheets. I dunno. I guess you could buy one with a satisfaction guarantee and try it out.

You put the bottom sheet on the pad. Makes changing sheets easier. :D

Could not find any listing from Mark or Memory Foam superstore for any pillows. I have a 20% off coupon from BB N B so should I buy it there. Should I just buy the Tempurpedic and Isotonic to try both of em out and return the one I don't like? I am getting a pretty big headache here......

After using the tempurpedic for 2 nights now, i'm finding it a bit high.. it's almost as if it's not compressing enough. Last night, i thoguht it might be temperature related so I sat on it for 10 mins to "warm it up". That didn't seem to make a difference...

Not sure, but I think the coupon specifically says that it is not valid for Tempuredic....can someone confirm this?

The dude from GotApex.com loves the SmartBargains.com pads, so take that for what it's worth. I just ordered one with MSN dollars I had (one of the few places that takes MSN dollars). So, we shall see.

Here's GotApex's blurb on the Smartbargains.com Mattress pads:

SmartBargains - Memory Foam Mattress Pad for $29.99 to $59.99. Tempur-Pedic® Brand Costs $299 to $599! (Posted by: Apex)
This is some very cool stuff. It`s made of 100% hypo-allergenic closed cell visco-elastic memory foam like those extremely expensive Tempur-Pedic mattresses & pads. It`s kind of thin, at 1.25" thick, but the Tempur-Pedic® Mattress Pad is actually thinner at just 1.00" thick. The price ranges from $29.99 for Twin sized, up to $49.99 for King. To put this in perspective, the thinner Tempur-Pedic® Mattress Pad is $299 for Twin and an astounding $599 for King (yes, that`s 12x the price)!!! Anyhow, SmartBargains does tend to run out of the really good stuff quickly, so if you want a few, get yours soon. Shipping is just $6.95 for your entire order, no matter how many you buy. To find it, search for: Visco. SMARTBARGAINS

Don`t believe me on the Tempur-Pedic® Mattress Pad pricing? LOL. I probably wouldn`t have believed it if I didn`t see it myself either. But it`s true. Check it out. BROOKSTONE
UPDATE: I ordered 4 of them a few weeks ago, and they`re fantastic. They make great gifts too. I`m considering ordering more. BTW, I did speak with a manager there. They did order more than before, but they`ll probably go in a day or two.

It only say this on the BBNB coupon, " Not valid for Charles P. Rogers and Select comfort Mattresses and sofa Bed products (where Available)."

And my local Costco don't seem to have Novaform instock.... Checked the Santa Clara and Fremont stores. Fremont has one that is being returned and don't seem to be in good shape.

I have had the 2.5 pad from bozcov's(sp?) for a few months and it is great. I also have the novaform contour pilliow. I hate it. Oh sure it feels good for 5 minutes but i wake up hurting. If anyone wants mine make an offer. The quality seems good and everything but it just makes me so sore. Don't worry i did not slobber on it:)

Has anyone had the novaform, hated it and then found another memory foam pillow they liked?

uhhhhhh......... yuck.

i wouldn't want to put my head anywhere near that pillow if i used it as a seat cushion... sitting in that chair all day, maybe working up a little ass sweat... maybe you did a bad job wiping ur ass and it feels like you stuck a salty potato chip between your cheeks and walked a mile... you know, the usual wear and tear of every day life on ur ass ;p

i would at least get 2 of those pillows, one for ass, one for head. ;)

According to multiple posts in this thread the two best memory foam pillows are the Isotonic and the Tempur-Pedic. If this ad is for the Isotonic, then its one of the best. Dunno if you can find it cheaper or not, maybe at Bed and Bath with one of their regular 20% off coupons. Look around for the best price.

If you decide to buy it, let us know if you like it or not!!

Thanks for the reply.

I will go check out the BB&B this weekend and see how much they charge with the 20% coupon. If they charges more I will order 2 from www.absoluteconfortonsale.com and post result.

the sharper image ones are majorly discounted at the moment. I got one of them, the thnner regular width one for 35 or so...

seemed better than the costco one which seemed to lose it's memory in the 4 months I had it... It got returned. I hate to take advantage of good return policies, but it really lost it's ability to hold my neck up... could be that I scrunch it up funny sometimes when i sleep.

anyone else find the costco one lost it's effect over time?

I had a Tempur-pedic from Brookstone which I originally purchased for $100 2 years ago.

In that time, it has also lost it's puffiness. I think there's no way to escape it. Foam gets squashed and loses it's memory over time.

Here is what I feel after a few nights on both the Tempurpedic and Isotonic pillows. I am a very pick person as to pillow. I had more neck and backaches that any kids. I had problems before I was a teenager.

3 nights on the Tempurpedic.
1st night on the high side. Originally I thought it will be too low for me but I slept well. The pillow will sink down and hold the head fine.
2nd night on the lower side. Did not have a good support.... sleep was ok I like to have a higher pillow. have some aches in the neck
3rd night back to the high side. Again pretty good.

2 nights on the Isotonic now.
1st night on the high side(5 inch) I find it a little harder and the foam will not sink and hold the shape for more than 1 second. it will bounce
right back. I find that I did not have as good sleep as the tempurpedic. I still have good sleep and dreams. But I have been waking up
with aches on my arm.
2nd night was pretty much the same as the first.

Tonight I will try it on the lower side and see how it goes. Overall I find the Isotonic not as good as the Tempurpedic. If it does not cost that much I will definitely keep it...... Cost me $80 right now.... after the coupon plus tax(8.25%) . Before both pillow I have a similar shaped pillow as the Tempurpedic but maybe 1 inch lower..... and it has sunk a little over 5 years..... and I believe it is a latex foam pillow. Cost for my old pillow is also $100. My mum bought it with the advertising gimmick of long infra red rays and some magnets in there. helped with my acne for like a month...... The redness went away a little bit and that's it.

Tough decision.

Well I recently about 2 nights ago bought the Novaform pillow from Costco. 23.99 + tax

anyhow so far so good. But that could be the fact that its still new. and before I had like a flat pillow.

Box says developed by NASA and does actually tell me to "air it out"

luckily costco has a great return policy so if the pillow goes bad I can always return it.
