RoH only works in your garbage tier pubs. Stop saying 'it works for me' from your garbage pubs and it's superior to better builds.

My point was the attitude put out, which has only gotten worse. While he may be wrong (in most eyes), if it's working for him where HE is, then who are you to get irate acting like it has any impact on you? If you were to come up against him (or anyone else) using said "noob" paths then you should just crush them. Eventually people learn what works and what doesn't and will change accordingly.

Usually until someone has played with someone and respects their skill and opinion, you telling them "they are noob" isn't going to change their mind about their actions and will (as you see) just solidify their thinking.

Now I realize what it really comes down to is YOU being in teams with people with the same mindset as he has, but again, you are NOONE to those people. Rage all you want, you aren't going to change their minds that way. I've been on both sides of it. The only thing that will change their style is for them to get repeatedly stomped. Strategies have to be adjusted depending on who you play against (skill wise). There are plenty of times that skill will trump counters/builds.

Relax and play the game.

That's the inherent issue beyond the jacking-off style of play. When playing a multiplayer game and the ideas, criticisms, and feelings of your teammates mean absolutely jack shit to you.

You could give a shit about helping your team as long as you win on your own terms and please yourself first.

It's not like dota2 doesnt cater to that crowd. You can play vs or against bots. Noone will give 2 shits about your build or how good/bad you do.

Yes, there are people who are outright toxic towards new players and that part sucks about the dota2 community, but there are people like CWRmadcat and Zeze who do put an effort to try and help other players gain strategtic knowledge towards the game. However, when their efforts are met with a " Fuck you, my style is better and your points are completely invalid " why should they remain civil?

It's not about making people understand or play the style of doto that pleases "good players", it's about not making retarded item choices and playing a solid competitive game. Same people, get retarded items, demand solo mid, and proceed to ruin the game. In-turn, they blame their team for not enough support or just talk shit because it's the only thing they can do.

I still more often than not try to defuse toxic situations and get my team to work together ( for selfish seasons, I fucking hate to lose ), but sometimes I just talk shit without any restraint because some people don't fucking get it and won't ever fucking get it.

This was covered many times already. He can do whatever he wants. Not everyone is pro and we all play at varying levels of skill. Why did I create this thread? I want more new people to enjoy the game.

The problem comes from the issue that he's actually arguing against the objective fact. RoH has NO chance, Linkens is garbage outside of lowest tier. He's saying otherwise.

This has been covered many many times. It's not about him or anyone being new or bad. It's his IGNORANCE and stubbornness when he simply doesn't know better.

Well, if you look back through the thread (it's quite a long-running issue) you'll find that throughout we've repeatedly tried to tell him why a BKB is better than a Linken's and why a Ring of Health is not good. He's allowed to be bad, and we were all bad at some point (I probably still am). But digging in your heels and saying against all contrary evidence that a Linken's Sphere is better than a BKB is just silly. Calling him noob is a last ditch effort of frustration more than anything else, since it's become apparent he doesn't listen to reason.

I think you misunderstand our motivation. I don't want to play against crappy people, and I don't want people to play crappy dota. In the end, it doesn't affect me personally whether or not he listens to us, I'll most likely never be put in MM against/with him, so it doesn't affect me personally. It's about the other 9 people in the game, 4 of whom will be frustrated that someone on their team sucks so much, and the other 5 of whom will be disappointed because they expected a fun, challenging match and instead got a stomp.

Wow, an impressive update. I was looking forward to Abaddon releasing out the most (of the pool of heroes left). Can you still choose between building offtank dps or support? Or did they balance him so you have less choice in games?

Also, I know one person I'll be recruiting with Linux/Mac support. Can't wait for tomorrow.

He's foremost an effective support.

He can nuke-heal allies with Shield.
He can nuke-heal allies & enemies with his first Death Coil.
That's 450hp heal combined- very powerful for allies.

He can also Shield a lane creep for free harass.
Shield dispels LOTS of debuffs on self/allies- it disjoints Bat's Lasso! HUGE potential.

His passive lets everyone chase.
His ultimate is a mega pain in the ass to kill.

All this without items. He's a very able support. That being said, he's fun as semi-carry/carry in pubs with SnY + Orb of Venom + Passive slow = infinite slow.
 
Shield creep harass is one of the most annoying things in DotA. I really hate Abadon even though he's one of my better heroes.
 
An interesting tidbit:

In original Warcraft 3 Dota 1, Omniknight's hero model is Arthas (the main protagonist of WC3), and Abaddon is the corrupted Arthas (later turns into Lich King).

Similar to WC3, they have near-mirror skill versions of good vs evil in Dota:

Omni's Purification: Heal allies/self, damages enemies
Abba's Death Coil: Heal allies, damages enemies

Omni's Repel: Grants spell immunity
Abba's Death Coild: Grants a damage shield + dispels on cast + damages enemies (similar to Purification)

Omni's Degen Aura: Slows everyone within range
Abba's Curse of Avernus: Slows target, hastes nearby allies.

Omni's Guardian Angel: Ignores all physical damage.
Abba's Borrowed Time: Ignores all damage to self, absorb it as HP.

Both play a similar role as support.

I don't think I was insulting anyone? I think all pick is a garbage game mode, I'm not calling *him* garbage. If I wanted to just see the same 15 champions over and over I'd play league.

No crap it's core on Medusa, it fits her like a glove. That's about it. It's situational on Weaver because he's a sick offlaner who becomes ridiculous with cheap items (Tranquil, Medallion, Drums, Wand). That covers all his needs rather than being a bumbling fool with 450hp trying to farm Linkens until 20 mins.

It's still suboptimal on Storm & QoP when you can Orchid (shuts out all spells + dmg amp) and get Hex or BKB later.

Linkens still is a terrible item on higher tier pubs except on rare cases that warrant them vs anti-BKB spells. This was covered already.

You also talked about how BKB is bad value compared to Linkens for pages in this thread. Then talked about how you like to rush Linkens on most heroes without mentioning which.

Reddit dota players are more sensible as you can get for a general public. They're awesome, wtf you talking about? Why don't you start a thread there about Ring of Health and how Linkens is better than BKB. LOL. You will get destroyed. Do it.

How the hell is AP garbage mode when you play AR? AR involves ZERO skill, zero counterpicking & team compostioning. What. the. hell?

AR is the biggest garbage of all modes. You end up with 5 carries vs 5 supports and get crushed or 3 core farmers with 2 offlaners, etc. It's all up in the air, the most mindless game. What is wrong with you?

I don't know about you, but in my AP- 2-3 people pick what they want, but other 2-3 people accordingly pick offlaners, supports, junglers or even a carry if not picked. This also includes counterpicking enemies.

I mean, every new things you mention, you just keep revealing how bad you are at this game.

I never claimed that RoH was the best possible first item, and I never claimed that linken's is better than bkb in every case. I simply argued with you when you made completely BS reasoning as to why they suck. They might well suck, this hasn't been fully established, but your reasoning was worthless anyway and deserved ridicule.

It's like when some ignorant person dies 5 times in the first 6 minutes, without even being ganked by another lane, and then complains about lack of wards. Wards are good, yes, but the reasoning of the ignorant player is BS, he was feeding in a way that wards wouldn't have made one bit of difference. Wards are needed and a good thing, but don't in any way excuse early game in lane feeding which wasn't even trigger by a jungle or other lane enemy ganking.

That is what you are zeze. You are complaining about my RoH and how I'm such a bad noob playing trash tier, but the fact is my tier and skill has little to nothing to do with a single item choice. You may well be right that RoH is bad, but your reasoning and argument is wrong.
 
Someone refresh my memory on this....would a high damage strike or nuke that would otherwise kill you triggered borrowed time, or will borrowed time only trigger on attacks/abilities that drop you below the threshold but not to zero?
