Most HD-DVD players = 720P/1080i

Blu Ray = 1080P

I watch Plasmas and LCDs all day long with both players and Blu Ray is dominating in sales as compared to the HD-DVD and the picture quality on the Blu Ray smokes HD-DVD.

720p/1080i = 1/2 Resolution of 1080P

When you came home, did you put your Best Buy shirt on the hanger so it didn't get wrinkled?

lol

Anybody who knows even the most basic of HD understands if the player or TV does interlacing correctly. There is almost no visible difference between 1080i and 1080p.

Ok. I'll bite.

My viewing distance is 10 feet. The majority of my content is widely available HD sources, what size should I be looking at?

*hint* it's greater than 60 inches.

It's coming up on CY2008. 1080p is the only way.

Or Maybe your talking about samsungs new LED tv

You still didnt answer you question yet and when you ask a question you need to be more discriptive.

Also your question is stupid because you asked about viewing distance an on a current tv that is released to stores I AM RIGHT.

But you try to sound smart by pulling some bullshit that hasn't been released yet.

WHATS YOUR POINT! YOUR NOT SMART ANYONE CAN MAKE UP A BS QUESTION ABOUT A TV THAT HASNT BEEN RELEASED TO STORES YET

I have a problem with all the misinformation about HDTVs. It's even worse when somebody who is antagonistic about it and a to top it off a salesguy.

I'm guilty of antagonism, but I sure as hell won't call myself a salesman. Cheerleader maybe. Beacon of truth maybe. Devils advocate maybe. Elitist jackass maybe.

But no salesman.

Sorry for feeding it. I know you're not supposed to feed it.

Sure I can, but I can troll with the best of them. You can't out troll a troll. :D

I specifically stated sources were mostly the majority of HD content. With your answer there is no reason in getting a HDTV at all.

This truly is an epic battle of trolls here.. On one hand there's Spidey who believes you need a 65" 1080p TV for sitting 3' away, and on the other hand there's Lucky who seems confused about the english language..

Its 1080i 720p are the same tv just interlaced scan. A tv that is 720p/1080i is roughly 1366X768 a 1080p tv is 1900X1080p So what are you trying to say.

Are you kidding me NO VISIABL DIFFERENCE between 1080P and 1080i? 2 1080p tvs, one on hd-dvd 1080i and one on blu ray 1080p and you think there is no difference? What ever you say but there is the 1080i definitly not as clear.

I never said you were necessarily wrong about that particular question. Based on everything else you've written in this thread however, I highly question your ability to make a good recommendation on a TV.

This is a good example of my above response. Why would it matter what kind of TV you have to choose between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray?

Because why are you going to put a blu ray 1080p player on a tv that only produces 720p/1080i??? It doesn't benifit what so ever the tv will just down convert

The question was HD-DVD or Blu-Ray. That doesn't answer the question.

And besides, he just asked which you sell more of, not for your opinion on the subject.

i sell a lot of blu ray but like i said a it depends on what tv some one is buying. Granted many people come in an buy 1080p so of course they buy a blu ray. But if a customer is going to get a 720p tv im not going to sell them blu ray when its not going to benifit them
