Tariffs are supposed to hurt exporters in China, not consumers.

I supposed Trump shooting Americans in the foot, has confused people about who the tariffs are supposed to target.

Consumers in China would be hurt by China's own tariffs on the USA, if they were as stupidly applied as Trumps.

If instead they just replace US products with products from other countries, then only the US gets hurt by Chinas tariffs.
