Appeasement doesn't work.

That is soon after he was praising Jensen for licking his boots on the trip to the Middle East.

During his speech in Riyadh, Mr. Trump paused to praise Jensen Huang, the chief executive of Nvidia, for traveling to the Middle East along with the White House delegation. Then he knocked Mr. Cook.

“I mean, Tim Cook isn’t here but you are,” Mr. Trump said to Mr. Huang at an event attended by chief executives like Larry Fink of the asset manager BlackRock, Sam Altman of OpenAI, Jane Fraser of Citigroup and Lisa Su of the semiconductor company AMD.

I'm betting Tim Cook is feeling better for not showing up now.

Dude, I will fucking drink your walnut liquor...or better yet: you have some hazelnut shit anywhere? I will fuck around with some hazelnut anything. for sure.

let's talk. hazelnut liquor. it should happen. just leave out the "infused vodka" part of this conversation

fuck golf, 2032: vote Zin.
Personally I only drink different spirits clean like whisky, rum, eau de vie etc.

I'm not a vodka or gin lover in any form.

Dammit, he's mixing up the Back To The Future tropes. He's always been Biff, but now he's doing a Marty ("nobody calls me chicken").
A reminder that Marty consistently got the shit kicked out of him after uttering that phrase when he couldn't back it up.

So what does this mean, tariffs on hold now?
While it should be good news what it is going to do is just sow more confusion on the markets and they're going to continue on the trajectory it's already on: The US cannot be trusted.

It's fucking wild man.

If Trump gets removed it's going to be over the economy.

PLUS, I do think that China is way further ahead than we think in terms of domestic production of these things... They probably dont need NVDA at this point.

Also everyone should keep in mind this ruling came from the Court of International Trade. And the make up of the judges on this ruling is also significant. One is a Reagan appointee. One is an Obama appointee. One is a Trump appointee. 3-0 decision against Trump.

Plus the law is pretty clear cut, it would take a Herculean task to wiggle out of the ruling that was just decided. From what I hear it is airtight, written so that the Supreme Court can’t dismiss the merits.

and it's yet another case of any government lawyer arguing against the clear language of the constitution on behalf of King Donnie, should be immediately disbarred. But it won't happen.

Take this with a grain of salt right

The metric to look at is performance per watt and it's kicking ass.

Plus innovation on the model side is turning tides away from the GPU space anyway.
(freeze it at the time it starts, and check the model specs).

How long till Trump ignores the court or the Supremes over rule the court or congress passes a law that says Trump can take tariff power away from them?

If the first 100 days have taught me anything, its that the system is broke and doesn't know how to heal itself.

It's hard to heal itself when everyone in the administration is actively trying to undermine the rule of law, and the constitution in massive concerted effort.

It don't think the system of checks and balances was ever built to withstand so many bad actors simultaneously.

It would be easier if the Republican party weren't beholden to Trump.

It is party over country every time. Supreme court blatantly bribed? Not a problem if that justice is part of their party. President goes 100% against the text of the constitution? Not a problem if the president is part of their party. And their voters love that.

The founding fathers did not foresee political parties (especially ones that act like they are acting). Checks and balances only work now if the opposing party has a majority to check and balance. But political parties tend to come in waves, meaning there is often no one willing to do the check or balance.

Heh. The taco thing is absolutely going to piss him off!

I think that the court has given him an out. He's obviously utterly out of his depth right now and if he can frame backing down on all the tariffs because the courts have tied his hands he'll do that.
I just want to see people push the taco thing to make him squirm!

Bloomberg story about the pain US Border towns near Canada are feeling:

Many residents of Point Roberts say they feel neglected by state and county leaders, who they say have failed to invest in their community over the years. Despite Trump’s talk of annexing Canada, some US locals would prefer the opposite. “There’s a lot of people that are saying, ‘Why don’t we just give Point Roberts to Canada?’” Hayton says. “I feel like most of the people in Point Roberts really just feel like we are alone in this.”
