At 73 I'm SICK with all this killing and destruction. I'm fortunate to have lived a rather peaceful life here in Northern Ontario but have fear for my Children and Grandchildren as to what they are facing.

My Dad was an RCAF Warrant Officer and my a Mother a Rosie Riveter in WWII - I grew up with guns and trained to recognized any plane in the sky - Could bush hop lakes piloting a J3 Cub when I was 14. My Dad was a mean drunk at times. He suffered what you would call Post Dramatic Syndrome today but not diagnosed back then. Life was not exactly easy growing up in Northern Ontario during the 50's and 60's. It was hard work and saw a lot of shit - I would not trade it for anything as I loved the People I met ;o)

I can blame France for the Vietnam War as they would NOT give up holdings in Indio China like the British and Americans did after WWII. Ho Ji Minh only wanted to repair his country and give her to the people after century's of foreign occupancy. He was neither Communists nor Capitalists but committed to defend his people. He need arms and the USSR provided him the weapons. In my opinion General Jap has to be one of all time great Generals in history. At the cost of millions of lives, the Vietnam People today have finally become a thriving independent proud nation. Very sad indeed the Vietnam War. It did not have to happen save for the rich to get richer dealing armaments at the cheap expense of lives over a small country that just wanted to be left alone during the Cold War.

Although Vietnam today is a one-party socialist republic it allows independents to campaign and a safe Country to visit - They are a proud People.

Can you imagine a small poor country like Vietnam being bombed by more explosives then used in both World Wars 50 years ago has managed to survive to this day. Their homeland was flattened into a waste land killing 100'rd of thousands of their people and yet there they are - It was not their war.
