For every computer per day I crunched for their TeAmVodKow, I got 1 bottle of their vodka. 😛
 
Yesterday I felt as though I drank all the missing vodka. I had the worse headache I have had in a long time. The entire day was wasted.
On Friday, I did manage to get a cruncher back online (combination of free time and cooler temps.) It's not much, dual CPU XEON HP server with 4GB currently crunching DPAD.
 
Today I spent removing "security tool" from my wife's new quad core machine.
When will people learn not to install stuff just because it "sounds like a good idea"??
 
One of the friends of my eldest daughter complained about her very slow computer some days ago. She said it was slower than her old PIII. She had a computer shop to modfy it to be more quiet.
So I asked her to bring the offending piece of hardware to us and looked at it: the Intel C2D 8200 was crunching along nicely ... @ 1 GHz!
I started looking around and at this temperature the CPU was @ 85ºC at that speed. Obviously the CPU protected itself by decreasing the clockfrequency
When I took the very nice Tuniq HSF I realised that the person who had assambled the computer had put the cooler onto the CPU with the protective plastic on the cooler - and between the cooler and the CPU.
The silver thermal paste was on the CPU and on the plastic. I pulled the plastic off, cleaned the CPU, put on new Arctic Silver 5, mounted the HSF, restareted the the computer, OC'ed it to 3.375GHz and it really took off. The girl was amazed at the speed. One piece of plastic ...

My wifes computer still has the "Security Tool" - it popped up again tonight when our daughter plugged her cell phone into the USB.
I just ran MalwareBytes again, it got rid of 21 bad things. I'm sure they will return. This sucks.

Wow.... That is just frightening. And amazing that the machine was running at all. That actually is very impressive. 🙂

I think I'll find some ribs to put out in the smoker this weekend.

Dry rub overnight Friday, cook slow & low with cherry & plum wood smoke for 6 to 8 hours Saturday, then my home made bbq sauce... Maybe get some corn on the cob & whip up some mash taters. Yum! 😉

Is it really only Tuesday???
 
What is this Tuesday you speak of? It is definitely the DAY OF SUCK. Still less than 5 hours of sleep per night. I WANT BBQ.
 
I slept so I just made stir-fry... Maybe tomorrow... and I'm making grilled Steak and Bacon-wrapped Shrimp on Thursday.

Exactly my thoughts! A hen peck is to a friend or relative. My gf deserves more than just a peck. She gets a kiss. A nice one too.

And now I'm in the mood for grilled chicken with a :beer:...

I've heard they are very similar in temperment, but all things being equal I'll take a dog that doesn't shed over one that does any day!
 
I'm trying to figure out the pressure differential between the tank I have and the pressure head at the end of the tube being pumped from it.

Then BBQ.

Open the valve and see how far the water goes up. Would that not give you your head pressure at that point?
