Its watchable - that's more than I can say about 90% of the other crap on TV. Hell, I remember when the History Channel actually showed, like .. HISTORY, and MTV had .. *gasp* .. MUSIC on it !!
 
Ok the main monster/vampire/whatever he fast and strong, why did he need the van to take the coffin across the bridge? Why didnt he just fly over there and carry it? On the security footage he is so fast it was just a blur on the footage where he swoops in and snatches up the coffin

Ah he's the dude from the first season of House of Cards! I knew he looked familiar. And I just realized he was an alcoholic in House of Cards, and in The Strain too, heh.

The one dude I can't place is the black guy who's the assistant/butler type guy to that old man. I refuse to look up the actors name on Wikipedia or something. MUST USE BRAIN, BUT BRAIN SUCKS SHIT. I don't remember if I know him from a TV show or a movie but I definitely have seen the actor before. ARGH!

Anyone still watching this? The GF has gotten into it and the first 3 episodes weren't awful, just a bit slow without setting much up other than "there are vampires and a crazy old man".

The premise is kind of interesting. They have a 'master' that was in Germany who now is in Queens. They have a network of massive influence and a ton of sleeper agents around organizations. They seem like nice enough guys (helping Samwise's cancer wife get into a treatment) and repay their debts. There is weirdo exterminator and the rats are leaving the city in hordes.

I am just waiting for the CDC guy to shave his head, pick up a hooker, and snort a bunch of cocaine!

The premise is cool but the way they're developing it sucks. It feels like it should have been a movie. For a TV show having the last two weeks of pretty much almost nothing happening is meh.

I don't think it would work in a movie. They are trying to set up the characters and develop them far more than any movie could. It is starting pretty slow, but at least the writing is better than True Blood!



The best part is even my GF hates the CDC guys ex wife and therapist. "Oh, your phone is ringing and you have to work. Sure, go ahead and go contain a potential epidemic and ignore me!" What a wise and beautiful woman! I'm sorry his job is actually important, Mr. Therapist. When your job does more than charge someone $250 an hour to listen to your feelings, then perhaps you will understand.

And he flushes it - he's definitely at the point of no return! One of the stranger scenes I've seen on TV. Series does seem to be slowly picking up steam. I'll keep watching.

It still is dragging on way too slowly. At least the last 2 mins it picked up just a bit. The comment about the CDC people still holds true though.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
 
I think they're trying to be slow to build up suspense but damn does it feel like it drags. I feel no connection with any character besides maybe the gang banger.

Also the wife of that dude was an idiot.

its a fucking strain to watch it because it's so slow....

its like filler after filler...

and how is there no news of whats going on? these things are out at night attacking people in public now and no one is aware of it...not on the news. are the people behind it bribing the news people or what? there's some filler we didn't get to see yet.

I totally agree. The gangbanger is actually decently developed as a character, even if it is a bit cliche. Everyone else though, they could be extras for all I'd care. The dad from Jumanji? Wtf is up with him? Nothing, that's what.

It hasn't been an incredible amount of time. Plus, who is going to believe a vampire was out and about killing people? Certainly, not the police.
