I posted a while back for advice on a blue NSX in cali - that one unfortunately didn't end up working out. Too many unanswered questions regarding an engine repair. That car has since sold and I'm told the new owner is enjoying it.
a couple months ago, I got a lead on a 2001 Black/Tan NSX with 54k miles in NW Arkansas. After a bunch of back and forth with the seller, I had the local Acura dealer do a PPI including a compression check, which came back great. 230-235 across all cylinders - one of the best I'd ever seen on an NSX. From the photos, the paint looked almost perfect minus a chip on one of the side mirrors. Car is stock except for an RM Racing quad tip exhaust which sounds great, and an iPod connection & HID kit which are both totally reversible and super useful.
I flew down last Friday to inspect the car in person. SUPER clean, inside and out, and drove like a dream. I rented a paint depth gauge & every panel checked out with a thickness between 4-6 mils. Made the decision to buy, wired the seller the money, and drove it back to Pittsburgh Friday night and Saturday with a stop in St. Louis. The drive was a blast and to top it off, I averaged 28mpg on the way home
