VGA isn't digital, it's analog. Realistically, you won't see much of a difference between the two.

By the looks of the picture (if this is actually real), there is still the standard output which will allow you to hook up a dongle with everything from composite to VGA connections...so you should be fine.

Aye, having the HDMI out on the propriety cable and having the 2nd single HDMI out option actually makes a whole lot more sense.

The one great thing about consoles is that you know when you buy a unit it is going to last for a good number of years until the next version boasting superior graphics/tech is unleashed. Now it looks like we get to buy entirely new systems as opposed to simpe add-ons such as hard drives.

That's not true at all. Read about the PS2's hardware revisions on Wikipedia.

Perhaps the idea that HDMI is going to cost around $400 instead of a $50 cable. Necessary? No. Wanted by some, sure.

If thats the only thing you cared about then why did you buy the console knowing that it did not have that? How can you not use the HD-DVD drive? It doesn't require HDMI to get hi-def. Maybe it can't do 1080p over component, but is your TV even 1080p?

Dude...don't get your pants in a wad...MS hasn't officially announced anything. And NSF4's analogy is right on. The same games can be played on both systems. I'd also REALLY be surprised if MS does go with HDMI that they wouldn't offer a dongle for old systems.

Everyone was already anticipating a price drop on the Premium. Probably $300 for the Premium. Who knows what the price would be for this Zephyr if the rumor turns out to be true. Who knows if the Core would still be around or if it would receive a price drop.

I also do not regret my Xbox 360 purchase at all. 1080p is useless to me. That 120GB drive sounds awesome, though, I may have to pick it up. They will surely offer it as a separate purchase so 20GB users can upgrade. That's the whole reason the drive are an external add-on, so it can be upgraded.

No one knows. Personally I wouldn't expect it to do anything as they won't be manufacturing the old systems anymore and so will probably just let supply go low for a month or two to let most of the previous versions to get off the shelves and then drop a large supply of the new version behind a media push to gain a boost in sales. I didn't notice if it said anything about a change in size or anything. I doubt we'll see an integrated HD-DVD drive yet as the format war is still up in the air and I think MS despite claiming officially that they're fully behind HD-DVD is waiting to see which side wins and then cover their bases that way.

MS has stated repeatedly that the HD DVD drive would not be integrated. Two reasons:

1) The transfer rates on HD DVD drives (and Blu-Ray) drives aren't fast enough to keep load times reasonable. The PS3 gets around this by installing games to the HDD.

2) MS supports HD DVD but doesn't want 360 owners to get stuck with it if it doesn't survive the battle with Blu-Ray.
