Too bad the government likes infringing on it everyday. 🙁
anti-gun nuts don't realize that police only show up after the crime to draw chalk outlines and figure out why you got killed and who did it ...
If we all carried firearms, 9/11 wouldn't have been a tragedy ... 19 gun totin' hijackers are no match for several hundred gun totin' Americans. 🙂
19 knife-wielding terrorists are no match for ONE gun-totin' passenger. Period. Unfortunately, if said passenger isn't shooting along the aisle and hits one of the sidewalls or a window, the whole plane is basically fuxed.

you could shoot 50 holes through the side of the plane and it wouldn't be fuxed as you put it... damn you people and your silly tv thoughts about people sucked out of a hole in an airplane...

As a gun enthusiast I get it, but I really wish you guys would stop using that stupid 9/11 analogy. It does nothing but make us look like ignorant trigger-happy rednecks. Would you please spend thirty seconds and think about why a gunfight aboard a 747 involving a hundred or so inexperienced, untrained, undisciplined gun totin' Americans might not turn out well?
No crap.
I'm all for gun ownership. But come one people that say if they were on that plane they would have shot them is bullcrap.
a gunfight aboard a 747 is silly. its to compact and to crowded. odds on hitting someone sitting there is good.

2nd amendment still isn't applied to the states, so it doesn't really matter. As a citizen of the US NATIONAL government you have a right to bear arms, but the amendment hasn't been applied to the states yet (if i recall correctly).

We should all carry guns. Then that way we can settle disputes with guns fights instead. Lets put a gun in the hands of every women and child. Instant justice wouldn't that be something in this day and age of instant gradifaction. Forget road rage, lets go in there guns blazing. Forget fist fights, lets just shoot each other instead. ye ha!

2nd amendment is being eroded by the 1st amendment.

Nothing wrong with liking your gun, but look at countries with stiffer gun laws (read: Canada or UK) and their murder instances. Much lower than ours here in the United States.

The law states, that for the purpose of a well-armed militia, you may have a gun. Gun ownership is legal in the U.S., but it shouldn't come from the 2nd Amendment.
All logic says that carrying guns has absolutely nothing to do with protecting yourself, and everything to do with liking having a gun... Nothing wrong with liking your gun, but look at countries with stiffer gun laws (read: Canada or UK) and their murder instances. Much lower than ours here in the United States. But the cat's already out of the bag, so gun activists will always counter the ol' standby argument: "If the criminals have a gun, I'm damn sure gonna have a gun..." Statistics, forgive me for not looking them up right now, also show that if your house is robbed, your chances of survival are better without a gun.
For the Jefferson quote: I'm sure we could go look up other advice from the 18th century, say, medical advice. It would sound ludicrous today. So does that gun quote. A gun is too quick and easy a way for people to express their lack of self-control with dire consequences (robbery, fights turned bad, school shootings, etc.).
It doesn't. The right to keep and bear arms is a natural, God-given (if you lean that way) right. The 2nd Amendment merely acknowledges that preexisting right as unalienable.Gun ownership is legal in the U.S., but it shouldn't come from the 2nd Amendment.
