You guys are idiots.
What Republicans are opposing is taxpayer funded abortions. Cigna is a private health care insurer.
2008 GOP PlatformAt its core, abortion is a fundamental assault on the sanctity of innocent human life. Women deserve better than abortion.
Since we pay for Viagra I don't see why not ...
The RNC opted out today.
It is legal, but it should absolutely NOT be negated in this debate. Except when the mother's life is in jeopardy, abortion is elective. No public insurance should pay for elective operations, period.
Should taxpayers pay for breast implants and face lifts?
Did you miss the word "stipulations"? Your attempt at being sarcastic when you obviously did not read the whole reply is futile.
I do not know the stipulations but there should be some in place at which I obviously stated and you obviously missed.
Edit: In my opinion abortion should not be paid for like it is birth control with any insurance. People should take some responsibility and use condoms, birth control or something. As I said, this is my opinion.
Oh, I read the whole reply, but you didn't elaborate on what these 'stipulations' would be. Sorry, I can't read your mind.
I find it hard to believe that the people that want abortion covered only want it covered if the mother's life is in danger.
On birth control, agreed.
The RNC's Health Plan Covers Abortion
I don't know if you've ever noticed, but Republicans actually oppose ALL abortion.
-snip-

Really, it seems the Republicans finally got something right.Too bad the Democrat's plan doesnt cover it.
So what is your point here?
You guys are idiots.

Nah, you're wrong.
You know they always have a stipulation like "only in cases where the mother's life is in danger" etc.

Is it hard to paint with such a broad brush?
iirc, the amendment to the house-passed medical payment system deform bill disallows private plans covering abortions from participating in the public exchange part (can't remember what it's called, brainfart)
You recall incorrectly.
If the plan touches taxpayer money than it cannot pay for abortion.
If the plan is 100% financed with private dollars abortion can be covered.
What is so hard to understand.
Typically stupid reply. We shouldn't be paying for Viagra, and if we are, it should come to a swift end ASAP. If an old fart with a broken dick wants to get his sex on, he can pay for it himself. Fix what is broken (and I'm not talking about wrinkled peckers here), don't fuck up even more because we're already paying for some other stupid shit. But your answer is what I expect from the left..........bravo!
You're not very bright, are you?
This is bad from a perception kind of view, but substantially irrelevent imo. I don't think anyone responsible for the plan sat down and said "ok, do we want to cover abortions, obviously yes!" They probably just didn't know it was covered. Which might go to the complexity of health coverage, i.e. you didn't know that cancer prescreening wasn't covered either, wouldn't it be nice if healthcare were simplified and shit was just covered?
So overall this aint a big deal as I see it, it's an optics problem. There's about 1000 better things to be slammin the GOP for rather than indavertent healthcare policy coverages. Seriously, does anyone believe the GOP secretly approves of abortions but only opposes them for politics? I don't think that, and I don't think George Tiller's murderer thought that either.
I think I'm still registered as a Republican (at least I know they have this insane idea I should send them money), but seriously, guys, no matter how diehard a Republican, everyone should be able to admit this is funny as hell. It's like if Outback Steak House discovered that PETA's cafeteria had been serving steak and lobster for the last twenty years./thread

I don't think your (allegedly) sarcastic remark was very bright either. I guess we're even.
